On Tuesday, October 21, 2014, Hildegarde L. Kalb, age 99, was called to her eternal home. Hildegarde was born in South Milwaukee on October 13, 1915, daughter of the late Otto and Emma (Nee: Dornfeldt) Nommensen.
On June 18, 1942, she was united in marriage to Gustave Kalb, who preceded her in death on September 18, 1984. She was a longtime and active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Mission Club, Ladies Aid, and Sewing Circle. Hildegarde was also a member of the Dizzy Dozen Club of South Milwaukee and was an avid Packer and Brewer fan. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Jan Wolfgram of Waukesha, Carol (John) Hlavka of Racine, Jim (Anne) Kalb of Eagan, MN; her seven grandchildren, Juli Wolfgram, Sandi Wolfgram, Christi (Joel) Ferris, Kristie (Rick) Hopf, John (Megan) Hlavka, Beth (Steve) Moore, Julie Kalb; seven great-grandchildren, Shawna Wolfgram, Morgan, Blake, Dalton and Hayley Ferris, Sienna and Wyatt Hopf; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Walter and Ernie; sister, Loretta Mellon; and son-in-law, Roger Wolfgram.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 24, 2014, at 5 p.m. at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 728 Villa St., with Rev. John Roekle officiating. Private interment will be held at Forest Hill Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 4 p.m. until time of service at 5 p.m. Memorials to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church or to the WELS World Missions have been suggested.
