Janesville -- Esther M. Klemp, age 87, passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014, at Cedar Crest, Janesville, WI. Esther was born in Lima Township on October 23, 1927, daughter of the late Carl and Mary (Nee: Churchill) Klemp.
Esther was a secondary mathematics teacher for thirty-seven years, teaching in Waterford for fifteen years and Racine Unified for twenty-two years. She was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Adella (Warren) Smith of Janesville; her godchildren, James Schultz and Edward Schultz; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Harriett Shumann and Mary Klemp; brothers, William Klemp and Carl Klemp.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014, at 3 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 614 Main St., with Rev. Bob Lambert officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. Memorials to St. Luke’s Episcopal Church have been suggested.
