Linda J. (Black) Fleetwood

Linda J. Fleetwood, age 73, passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at her home. Linda was born in Morris, IL, on August 12, 1941, daughter of the late Joseph and Audrey (Nee: Peterson) Black and had been a resident of Racine since 1962.

On October 9, 1959, at the First Presbyterian Church in Morris, IL, she was united in marriage to Merle Fleetwood Jr.  Linda was a member of Grace Church. She was employed as a Realtor for over thirty years, last working at Orth Realty. Linda was devoted to her family and cherished time spent with them, especially her grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-five years, Merle; her children, Jeffery (Dawn) Fleetwood of Cary, NC, Jennifer (Scott) Rettammel of Racine; her four grandchildren, Ryan Fleetwood, Krystal (Ryan) Simmons, Ashley Vance, Stephanie Vance; her five great-grandchildren, Peyton, Bodie, Logan, Nolan and Holt; sister, Betty (Frank) Gorman of FL; brother-in-law and sisters-in law, Ronald (Peg) Fleetwood, Marcia Menges, Debbie Trowbridge, Connie Fleetwood; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Sam Jackson officiating.  Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. Memorials to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.
