Richard met the love of his life, Janice Helland, at age 16 and fell head over heals in love with her. Richard and Jan were members of the William Horlick High School Class of 1971.
Two years later they were united in marriage on May 19, 1973. Two years after that they were blessed with their first beautiful daughter, Jennifer. Five years later they completed their family, celebrating the birth of their second beautiful daughter, Annie.
Jan, Jennifer and Annie were everything to Richard … until the birth of his most treasured Grandbabies, Nathan, Margaret and Henry Greenhagen, and Audrey Teufel. He was so unbelievably proud of his children, sons-in-law and grandchildren and would boast about their accomplishments, big or small, to anyone and everyone who would listen.
Richard, together with Jan, was very involved in their children and Grandchildren’s lives. They took the Grandbabies on many adventures including, a Mackinac Island road trip, an up-north RV Trip and most recently a trip to Cedar Point, OH. Richard was smitten with baby Audrey and couldn’t wait to include her on these adventures.
Richard worked throughout his life as a siding contractor. His craftsmanship can be seen on many homes throughout Racine and Kenosha. But most of all, Richard was great at enjoying life. He was passionate about his love for the Green Bay Packers and the Wisconsin Badgers. He loved going to the Indianapolis 500 and had attended for the past 31 years. He loved music, expensive beer, brats on the grill and a well made 7 and 7.
Richard is survived by Jan, his wife of 41 years; his daughters and their husbands, Jennifer and Daniel Greenhagen and Annie and David Teufel; his much loved Grandbabies, Nathan, Margaret and Henry Greenhagen, and Audrey Teufel; his granddogs, Mauer and Marley. He is further survived by his brothers, Daniel (Vicki) Marohl and John (Michelle) George; sisters-in-law, Dianne Lueder (Keith Thomsen), Marji (Jim) Vlasak, Joan (Jeff) Carman; and brother-in-law, Richard (Camille) Helland.
Special people in his life included his nephews, Daniel Bertelsen and DJ Pelky; niece, Barbara Lantz; and too many friends to count.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Marohl; father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Margaret Helland; brother-in-law, Roland (Patrick) Lueder.
Our hearts are forever broken and we will miss you and your Richie-isms for the rest of our lives.

Later in the evening as you lie awake in bed
With the echoes from the amplifiers ringin' in your head
You smoke the day's last cigarette, remembering what she said
Here I am, on the road again
There I am, up on the stage
Here I go, playing star again
There I go, turn the page
Here I am, on the road again
There I am, on the stage yeah
Here I go, playing star again
There I go, there I go
