Surrounded by his loving family, Raymond Perman, age 83, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2014, at the Racine Hospice House following a courageous battle with cancer. Raymond was born in Chicago, IL, on March 29, 1931, son of the late Gustave and Lydia (Nee: Boschee) Perman.
On April 28, 1951, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Caledonia, he was united in marriage to Dolores Mutchie who preceded him in death on August 9, 2007. Raymond served in the United States Army as a paratrooper during the Korean Conflict. He was employed for many years as a mechanic, retiring from Helding Farms. Raymond enjoyed fishing, his casino trips, and various card clubs. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his family, especially his grandkids and great-grandkids. He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his four children, Janet A. Lundy (fiancé, Terry Zdeb) of Marshall, TX, Catherine (Mike) Mentink of Franksville, Andrew (Joan) Perman of Union Grove, Mary Beth Perman (Rory Grimes) of Sturtevant; daughter-in-law, Kathleen Perman of Kenosha; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; sister, Evelyn Loughan; sisters-in-law, Agnes T. Boldt, Evelyn Klaczynski, Sue Mutchie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Michael; grandson, Jeremy Lundy; sister, Adeline Garner; three brothers, August, Otto and Gottlieb Perman.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 7, 2014, at 7 p.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p..m. Entombment with full military honors will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park on Saturday at 10 a.m. Please meet at the cemetery entrance. Memorials to the Racine Hospice House or the Cancer Center of Racine have been suggested.
