Clarence E. White

Surrounded by his loving family, Clarence E. White, age 93, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2013, at his residence. Clarence was born in Duluth, MN, on May 8, 1919, son of the late Frank and Tressa (Nee: Weaver) White.

 Clarence was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1937.” During World War II Clarence proudly served in the United States Army in the European Theatre where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. On July 26, 1941, at Gethsemane Lutheran Church he was united in marriage to Eleanor Reichel.

In his earlier years he was actively involved in youth sports, Boy Scouts and Mt. Pleasant Park and Recreation. Clarence was employed by Twin Disc for forty-seven years, retiring in 1982, and belonged to their “20 Year Club.” He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who cherished time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of seventy-one years, Eleanor; their children, Randall White, Richard (Sharon) White, Mary Granger; daughter-in-law, Kathy White; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Valeria Weiss; brother-in-law, Ed (Sylvia) Reichel; nieces, nephews, other relatives, special friends, Sumiko Cummings and family, and Anthony Widmar “Tunch” and many other friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James White; grandson, Paul White; and son-in-law, Kevin Granger.

Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, 2013, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Kara Baylor officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m.
