David Joseph Grosz

Surrounded by his loving family, David J. Grosz, age 71, passed away peacefully, Thursday, March 31, 2011, at his residence. David was born in Milwaukee, WI, on October 21, 1939, son of the late Ralph J. and Angeline (Nee: Rutzinsky) Grosz.

On April 8, 1961, he was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Barczynski, with whom he shared fifty beautiful years. David served as a proud Marine, fighting for our country, then fighting the battle of Mesothelioma, sadly losing the war in March. His passions were family, his parish, his country, building for Habitat for Humanity, the Packers and NASCAR. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his four daughters, Adrienne (Roger) Rusch, Barbara Hernandez, Christine Grosz, Denise (Vern) Rosman; his grandchildren, Joseph (Megan) Grosz, Nicole (Michael) Fedele, Joshua Rusch, Jacob Rusch, Samantha Verheyen, Katelyn Kruse, Sheila Kruse, Jens Kruse; step grandchildren, Kayla and Amanda Rosman; his great-grandchildren, Annabella Fedele, Amarianna McCutchen, Angelo Fedele, Margaret Grosz; sisters, Sandra (Edward) Firoella, Karen (Edward) Weink; brother, Gary Grosz; special friends, Kenny and Betty Kulas: special nephew: Michael (Catherine) Grosz; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Skeeter (Ralph Jr.) and his sister, Marilyn Meleski.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 7 p.m., with Rev. Joseph G. Stobba officiating. Private interment with full military honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Monday from 4 p.m. until time of Mass at 7 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either St. Rita Parish or Habitat for Humanity have been suggested.

Del J. Ayers

Del J. Ayers, age 89, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Del was born in Mineral Point, WI, on September 5, 1921, son of the late George and Evelyn (nee: Golliner) Ayers and been a resident of Racine since the age of 2.

Del graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1939.” Following graduation he proudly served his country as a Flight Officer in the U.S. Army Air Force. He later attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the Layton School of Art. On August 6, 1966, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Hilda Simpson, and shared forty-five beautiful years together. Del was employed with the Maier Construction Company for over thirty years, last working as the Chief Estimator. Del was a dedicated member of the First United Methodist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, fishing, construction projects and tending to his yard. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Hilda; daughter, Kathryn (Dave) Treiber of Racine; brother, George (Pricilla) Ayers of VA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Del was also preceded in death by his brother, Edgar, and his sister, Fern Hlavaka.

A Memorial service followed by full military honors will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main St., Monday April 11, 2011, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet at the church Monday from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to the First United Methodist Church have been suggested.

Mary Ann (Mason) Zamecnik

Mary Ann Zamecnik, age 62, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Mary Ann was born in Racine on November 18, 1948, daughter of the late Lewis and Virginia “Jean” (Nee: Mohrbacher) Mason.

Mary Ann was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1966.” On March 7, 1970, she was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Zamecnik who preceded her in death, September 4, 1977. She was employed as an LPN and Medical Transcriptionist for many years. Mary Ann belonged to the Women’s Bowling Association for many years. Her pastimes included playing bingo, cards, cribbage and board games. She especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Brian (Pauline) Zamecnik, Scott Zamecnik, Christopher “Chrissy Mike” Zamecnik, Jodi (Rick) Chingway; her four grandchildren, Molli, Jessie, Hunter, Cheyenne; sister, Karen (Jerry) Calliari; sister-in-law, Pam (Robert) Beckett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Holy Communion Lutheran Church, 2000 West Sixth St., with Rev. Stephen Samuelson officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Thursday at church from 10:30 a.m. until time of service.

Catherine (Mostek) Knapp

Catherine M. Knapp, age 88, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at her residence. Catherine was born in Racine, October 28, 1922, daughter of the late Sylvester and Katherine (nee: Willing) Mostek.

On June 22, 1946, at St. John Nepomuk in Racine, she was united in marriage to Robert J. Knapp, who preceded her in death on March 19, 1993. Catherine worked with her husband at Fred Knapp Engraving Company as Secretary/Treasurer. She retired from the company in 2006. She was a loving and devoted, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her two daughters, Susan (Michael) McMahon of Des Plaines, IL, and Janet (Michael) Mengelkoch of Golden Valley, MN; six grandchildren, Robert McMahon of Chicago, IL, Michele (Peter) Roy of St. Louis, MO, Kathleen (Ruben) Medina of Des Plaines, IL, Katie Mengelkoch of Crystal, MN, Ryan Mengelkoch of Tampa, FL, and Michelle (Brian) Billingsley of Indian Trail, NC; five great-grandchildren, Jacob and Elizabeth Medina, Aidan and William Roy, and Matthew Billingsley; brother, Joe Mostek of Racine; close nephew, Jay Haertel of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Haertel.

Alice Teresa (Kyte) Jorgensen

Alice Teresa (Kyte) Jorgensen, of Racine, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, at the Wheaton Franciscan Medical Center in Racine. Alice had just celebrated her 92nd birthday on March 25. She was born in Lebanon, Kansas, the daughter of Ben and Grace (Viers) Kyte, and sister to Stephen Kyte, of Mankato, MN, and Paul Kyte, of Yankton, SD, all who preceded her in death.

She married Alvie Jorgensen of Yankton, SD, in 1940; they enjoyed a love affair of nearly sixty years. They lived in Massachusetts most of their married lives, first in Newton, then in Lexington, and finally in South Yarmouth. Alice moved to Racine shortly after Alvie’s death. She leaves a son and daughter-in-law, Neil Jorgensen and Maureen Dastous, of Concord, NH; a daughter, Paula Jorgensen, of Racine; seven grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.

Alice had rejoined the workforce after raising her children into their teens, beginning with Lexington Trust Company, which eventually became part of Bank of America. She was an avid reader, skilled at cross-stitch embroidery and made a great apple pie.

Alice’s interment will be at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Centerville, MA. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the charity of your choice.

Paul S. Gales

Paul S. Gales, age 95, passed away peacefully, Monday, March 28, 2011. Paul was born in Racine on December 31, 1915, son of the late Theophil and Agatha (Nee: Lukstowina) Galzanski.

On July 6, 1954, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church he was united in marriage to Mildred “Millie” Pedersen, who preceded him in death on February 12, 2008. Paul was last employed by Motor Specialty. He was a longtime member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. Paul was an avid golfer who enjoyed participating in the Commercial Golf League for many years. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and tending to his vegetable and flower gardens. Most of all, he treasured time spent with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Thomas (Linda) Gales of Racine, Patricia (Thomas) Barina of New Berlin, Judith Fornes of Racine; his grandchildren, Michelle Schimanski, David (Jessica) Gales, Stephanie (Andrew) Weaver, Michael (Kristin) Barina, Andrew (Jaya) Barina, Rachelle Barina, Todd Fornes, Michael Fornes; seven great-grandchildren, Emily and Sidney Schimanski, Betsy and Millie Gales, Isabel Weaver, Zachary and Nicholas Fornes; brothers-in-law, Edward Bauer, Gordon Hansen, both of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marjorie Louise Hildensperger

Mrs. Marjorie L. (nee: Botsford) Hildensperger, 84, passed away at Ridgewood Care Center on Monday, March 28, 2011.

Marjorie was born in Racine to the late Norman A. and Hazel L. (nee: Schmoyer) Botsford on January 3, 1927. She was united in marriage to Arnold ‘Arnie’ Hildensperger on November 22, 1947.

Mrs. Hildensperger was a 1945 graduate of Washington Park High School and also attended Ripon College from 1945 to 1946. She was employed as an office manager at Rite Engineering from 1960 to 1978 and Racine Plating Company from 1979 until her retirement in 1994.

Marjorie was a member of Christ Church United Methodist of Racine and was a Past Worthy Matron in 1957 of the Racine Chapter #45 of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of Guardian of Bethel #22 Jobs Daughters, the Racine Chapter of the DAR, and the Elks Ladies Club.

Marjorie will be dearly missed by her daughter, Lynn (Paul) Walby of Morrisonville; granddaughter, Michelle (nee: Widmer) and Robert Fetterer of Cary, IL; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Helen Botsford of Muskego; niece, Janet (nee: Botsford) and Don Kriz of Sugarland, TX, and their family,  The Reverend Douglas (Meredith) Kriz and Paul Kriz; nephew, Norman (Mary) Botsford of Tucson, AZ, and their family, Christian Botsford, Theresa (Jared) Godinez and Paul Botsford; and sister-in-laws, Mary Jo Hildensperger of Wausau and Delores Hildensperger of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arnie Hildensperger, in 2010; and her father and mother.

Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, April 3, 2011, at 4 p.m. with The Reverend Douglas Kriz of Prosper, TX, officiating. A private interment will be held at Mound Cemetery at a later date. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the time of service. Marylou (Powers) Miller

Marylou Miller, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 27, 2011, at her residence. Marylou was born in Kenosha, December 30, 1923, daughter of the late John and Florence (Nee: Hylen) Powers.

On July 27, 1946, at Gospel Tabernacle in Racine she was united in marriage to Thomas Miller Jr., who preceded her in death on January 5, 2006. Marylou was an active member of Calvary Memorial Church, well known for catering numerous church events. Above all she devoted her life and cherished time spent with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her five children, Margaret “Peggy” (Bob) Korlewitz of West Chester, OH, Thomas (Sue) Miller III of Menomonie, WI, Peter Miller of Racine, Nancy Anne Miller of Eagle River, WI, Jim Miller of Menomonie, WI; her two grandchildren, Megan (Mark) Wesco of West Chester, OH, Rob Korlewitz of West Chester, OH; her one great-granddaughter, Kylie Wesco; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Ann M. Moore, age 47, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011. Ann was born in Racine, June 22, 1963, daughter of William and Nancy J. (Nee: Mueller) Stommel.

Ann was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1981.” She was employed in the construction field as a welder for many years. An avid outdoorsman, Ann enjoyed camping and motorcycling. She had a great love for animals, music and her guitar, and the Packers. She will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her companion, Janet K. Presson; her sons, Michael W. Moore, Anthony J. Moore; her mother, Nancy (Jean) Stommel-King; sisters, Susan Stommel of KY, William (Renee) Stommel, Kathryn (Daniel) Hossalla; stepsisters, Debra (Mark) Kunz, Sandra (Charles) Schovain, Michael (Terri) King, Barbara (John) Brahm; father of her sons, Michael “Mickey” Moore; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Joyce M. (Felbab) Gemmel

Joyce Mary Gemmel, age 75, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Racine, November 21, 1935, daughter of the late Fredrick and Agnes (Nee: Wynhoff) Felbab and was a lifelong resident until moving to Las Vegas ten years ago.

She attended St. Rose Grade School and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1953.” In November of 1955 she married William D. Gemmel Sr. Joyce was employed by Piggly Wiggly Food Stores for 36 years. She was a longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, gambling, penny slots and bingo. Above all she was devoted to her family and will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her five children, William (Pam) Gemmel Jr., Michael (Teri) Gemmel of Franksville, Kelli (Jeff) Kauzlarich, Gary (Laura) Gemmel and Tracy Gemmel (Thomas Michel) of Union Grove; grandchildren, Craig (Erin) Kauzlarich, Laura (Jacob) Burmeister, Elizabeth, Stacey, Stephanie, Kristin, Katherine, Heleana, Kimberly and Monica Gemmel and Brianna Mallo; great- grandchildren, Hannah, Parker, Austin, Dominic, Nathan, and Ella; her special companion of 30 years, Robert Salvatore; brother-in-law, Robert Gagnon; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dorothy M. (Riffer) Sohr

Dorothy M. Sohr, age 87, passed away Friday morning March 25, 2011, at her residence. Dorothy was born in Racine September 1, 1923, daughter of the late Henry and Harriet (nee: Maddron) Riffer.

On April 26, 1940, Dorothy married the love of her life, Harland Sohr, in Dubuque, Iowa, and has since shared seventy beautiful years together. During her twenty-eight years of retirement in Fort Meyers, FL, she enjoyed her time teaching crafts and her travels with Harland around the world. She will be best remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her husband, Harland; children, Deborah (Alan) Wentzell of Waterford, Richard Sohr of Racine; grandchildren, Ronald (Lisa) Wentzell, David (Maggie) Wentzell , Christopher Wentzell; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Nathan Wentzell, Carter Wentzell; sister, Betty Mayland of Greensboro, NC; sister-in-law, Margaret Sohr of Nashville, TN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence, Wilbur, Bernie and Paul.

Margaret Marie Therkelsen

Margaret M. Therkelsen, age 81, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Margaret was born in Racine on September 9, 1929, daughter of the late Arthur and Marie (Nee: Soens) Helding.

On August 11, 1951, Margaret was united in marriage to Richard P. Therkelsen who preceded her in death on March 23, 1998. Moving to Door County in 1977 she and her husband owned and operated Dick’s Ephraim Service Station. She later used her talent for decorating at the Turtle Gift Shop in Ephraim and worked along side her daughter at Rankin & Associates in Sturgeon Bay. In 2008, Margaret moved back to Racine to be closer to her family. She had a great love for music and a strong devotion to her family. Margaret will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Richard (Carol) Therkelsen, Susan (Jerry) Koudelka, Barbara (Dale) Hatch, Nancy (Anthony) Druktenis, Jeff (Krisse) Therkelsen; seven grandchildren, Tracie (Pete) Feest, Kirk (Carrie) Koudelka, Kevin (Sarah) Koudelka, Kristopher (Melissa) Koudelka, Robert (Nicole) Druktenis, Danielle Druktenis and Jenny Druktenis; six great-grandchildren, Madalyn, Ella, and Ava Druktenis, Julia, Victoria and Kylie Koudelka; brothers, Arthur and Tom (Barb) Helding; aunt, Lucille Soens; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jinx, Ruth, Raymond, Peggy and Bruce. Emiddio G.'Gabe' Rinaldi

Emiddio Gabriel Rinaldi, ”Gabe”, age 78, passed away Friday, March 25, 2011, at Ridgewood Care Center. He was born in Racine, April 10, 1932, son of the late Vincenzo and Carmella (Nee: Anzalone) Rinaldi.

Gabe proudly served in the U.S. Army. He retired from J.I. Case Co where he was employed for 32 years and was a member of the Twenty Year Club. Gabe was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed life, window shopping at the hardware and Army Surplus Stores, bird watching, table games, reading mystery novels, collecting paintings of the lighthouse and watching old westerns on TV. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his sisters, Mary (David) Rinaldi-Kerner of Racine, Louise Liese of Glendale, CA; his brother, Michael A. Della R.(McCauley) Howe

Surrounded by her family, Della Rose Howe, age 88, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2011, at Select Specialty Hospital, West Allis, following a three-month struggle. Della was born in Warba, MN, June 25, 1922, the tenth of eleven children of the late Jack and Anna (Nee: Vadnais) McCauley.

On December 28, 1940, in Duluth, MN, she was united in marriage to Clifford W. Howe and they moved to Racine where they raised their family. He preceded her in death April 4, 1997. Della was a longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church and a current member of St. Richard Catholic Church. She enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting and reading. Her faith was important to her, as was praying the rosary. Above all, it was caring for and being surrounded by her family that she treasured the most. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and domestic goddess who will be dearly missed.

Anna Fern (Williams) Baer

With her loving family by her side, Anna F. Baer, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 22, 2011, at her residence. Anna was born in Breckinridge, KY, September 18, 1916, daughter of the late Alvie and Pearl (nee: Probus) Williams.

Survivors include her children, Ronald (Carol) Baer, David (Kathy) Baer, Sandra Baer, all of Racine; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Corrine (Robert) Bradford of Normal, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Anna was also preceded in death by her husband, Lyle Baer, in 1983; brothers, Dale, Willie and Paul; and her sisters, Louise and Mildred.

Marvin L Weisensel

Marvin L. Weisensel, age 80, passed away Monday March 21, 2011, at the Hospitality Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Kenosha WI, after a long and courageous battle with COPD. He was born in Stacyville, Iowa, July 27, 1930, the 11th of 12 children of Erhardt J. and Amanda (nee: Diedrich) Weisensel.

Marvin served as a Corporal in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Joan M. Westrich May 2, 1959 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Over the years he was employed by In-Sink-Erator (18 years), J.I. Case (6 years), and retired in 1997 after 12 years at Gettys Manufacturing.

A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since 1960, he served as an usher, prayer leader, and belonged to the parish visitation ministry. He was actively involved with the Catholic Men’s Club, St. Vincent DePaul, and the Northside Catholic Food Pantry.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-one years, Joan; his children, Edward Weisensel of Milwaukee, Allan (Louise) Weisensel of Janesville, Ann Weisensel of Kenosha, Donna (David) Kolarik of Island Lake, IL; three grandchildren, Jessica, Anthony and Rachel; sisters, Sr. Catherine Weisensel of Mt. St. Frances in Dubuque, IA, Adella Attig of Austin, MN, Norraine Hemann of Osage, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and siblings Angela, Clemence, Ernestine, Esther, Lawrence, Marian, Roger and Willard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, March 24, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev. Ronald Crewe officiating. Eland L Muoio

Erland L. Muoio, age 85, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011, at the Heartwood Home, Appleton, WI. Erland was born in Racine, October 6, 1925, son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Nee: Phillips) Muoio.

Erland attended Washington Park High School. He was drafted into the United States Army at the age of 17, serving in the European Theatre from 1942-1945. Erland returned to Racine and attended the University of Wisconsin Racine Extension majoring in chemistry. On December 26, 1946, he was united in marriage to Doris Jensen who preceded him in death, October 31, 2005. Erland was employed by SC Johnson and Son as Research Chemist for many years until his retirement in 1987. While at SC Johnson, having invented many products, most notably Pledge, he was the proud recipient of the distinguished “Carnuba Palm Award.” Years later he was nominated into the Washington Park High School Hall of Fame. Erland was a member of Bethania Lutheran Church and the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed working in his yard, traveling -- including many trips throughout Europe, and visiting and enjoying his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed.

Erland is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Susie Muoio of Appleton and their children, Michael and Jamie Muoio; his son-in-law, Joe Lawrence of Milwaukee; his grandchildren, Carlin and Nick Arnold and their children, Hannah, Ava and Noah; Erin and Brian Beres and their children, Taylor, Madison and Tye; Lisa and Steve Thomas and their children, Shawn, Joey and Tyler; Kim and Mark Holman and their children, Alexandra, Jake and Carson; sister, Sally (Dick) Hamilton of Monterey Park, CA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ken and Shirley Jensen of Racine; other relatives and many dear friends. Mary 'Marika' Mastous

Mary “Marika” Mastous, age 86, fell asleep in the Lord, Monday, March 21, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center with her niece and nephew, Georgia and Mike Barr, at her side.

Mary was born in Racine, August 1, 1924, daughter of the late Stanley and Irene (Nee: Massas) Mastous. Mary was a lifelong member of the Kimissis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church. She loved reading, especially Emily Loring novels. Her favorite color was red.

Survivors include her sister-in-law, Stamatia “Toula” Mastous; her nieces and nephews, Irene (Oreste) Lucchetta, Xanthe (James) Parker, Georgia (Michael) Barr, Chris (Julie) Kokinakis; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Peter, Gust, John; sister, Angie Kokinakis; and two nephews, Steve and Peter Kokinakis.

Richard G. Jarstad, age 66, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011, at his residence. Richard was born in Racine, December 16, 1944, son of the late Marvin G. and Anna (Nee: Mayer) Jarstad and had been a lifelong Racine resident.

On March 12, 1983, Richard was united in marriage to Jane M. Hill. He was employed as a mechanic for various foundries. In his spare time, Richard enjoyed repairing bikes, lawnmowers and fans. He will be dearly missed.

Steve M. Bergemann

Steve M. Bergemann, age 60, passed away Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Aurora Medical Center, Grafton, Port Washington. He was born in Racine on August 16, 1950, son of the late Bernard Bergemann and Zita M. Olson.

Steve was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1968.” He then enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War. Steve was a graduate of Silver Lake College and spent his career as a Quality Engineer. On August 19, 1972, he was united in marriage to Julie M. Petersen. An avid sailor, Steve belonged to the Sheboygan Yacht Club and enjoyed boat building. Steve was an active member of the YMCA. More than anything, Steve cherished time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife, Julie; his daughter and son-in-law, Jenny (Seth) Horzen; his grandchildren, Katrina, Cait and Bella; brother, Carl Bergemann; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tom (Rosemary) Petersen, Marcia (Dick) Thomas, Mark (Diane) Petersen, Steve (Cindy) Petersen, Mike (Renee) Petersen, Mike Legue; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Roy William Braid Jr.

Roy W. Braid, 80, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare- All Saints after a brief illness.

Roy was born in Racine to the late Roy William Sr. and Mildred (nee: Olson) Braid on July 26, 1930 and lived his entire life in Racine. He was united in marriage to Joyce (nee: Spencer) on July 28, 1951.

Mr. Braid proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. Throughout his life, he was employed at Borden’s Milk Company, served as president of National Aluminum, Racine Aluminum and, after his retirement, continued to work assisting his family at Apple Holler. Roy also was a little league coach for many years, served as past president of Gethsemane Lutheran Church Council, sponsored numerous fast-pitch ball teams, previously owned the Racine Raiders and belonged to the Racine Purchasing Agents and Lutheran Men’s Bowling League.

He will be dearly missed by Joyce, his wife of 59 years; daughters, Cheryl (Thomas) Hollibush and Vicki (David) Flannery; grandchildren, Jill Brink, Kristi Duban, Laura (Daniel) Sadowski, and Elyse, Riley, Connor, Bailey, and Paige Flannery; and great-grandchildren, Christian Matalik and Madelyn Sadowski; as well as many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Gary Braid.

Alfreda Gertrude Ellingham

Alfreda Gertrude (nee: Hodges) Ellingham, 94, died on Friday, March 18, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan Health Care-All Saints.

She was born in Racine on October 1, 1916, to the late Alfred and Nellie Hodges. Alfreda was united in marriage to Earl Ellingham on November 20, 1941.

Alfreda was a lifelong member of (Holy Innocents) St. Nicholas Episcopal Church and was employed for 40 years with Racine Unified Schools.

She is survived by one son, Alan (Grace) Ellingham of Racine; two grandchildren, Eric (Kim) Ellingham of Burlington and Sue Ellingham of London, England; two great-grandchildren, Andy and Emma Ellingham of Burlington; and one brother, Alfred (Colleen) Hodges of Rochester, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl; daughter, Diane; brothers, William and Walter; and sisters Doris Cordts and Alice Bergman.

Funeral services will be held at St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, 2509 16th St., on Wednesday, March 23, 2011, at 10 a.m. with Father David Miracle officiating. Gertrude 'Gertie' F. Berthelsen

Mrs. Gertrude F. Berthelsen (nee: Fitzgibbons), 93, passed away at her home on March 18, 2011.

Gertie was born in Sheboygan Falls to the late Mr. and Mrs. John Fitzgibbons on January 3, 1918. She lived in Racine most of her life. On March 1, 1941, she was united in marriage to Gilbert Berthelsen who preceded her in death on November 20, 1999.

During her life, Mrs. Berthelsen was employed by J.C. Penney Co. as the manager of its fabrics department. She was also very active in her husband’s life. Her husband was Racine County’s first County Administrator and Racine County’s first County Executive. She was a wonderful mother deeply loved by her children. She was accepting and supportive of her children and very proud of them. She was a particularly kind person who put the interest of others before her own. She enjoyed art, mystery novels, and crafts.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Gilbert J. (Santa) Berthelsen of Racine, Cheryl A. (Helmut) Schmidtke of Kenosha and Richard A. (Sandy) Berthelsen of Clifton, VA; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by one son, Keith R. Berthelsen.

Albert 'Bert' J. Bunker

Albert J. Bunker, age 93, passed away on March 17. He was surrounded by the love of his family and the Lord. Bert was born November 29, 1917, in Turtle Lake, WI, the son of George and Mildred “Blix” Bunker.

Bert was raised in Turtle Lake, WI. After graduating from High School he went on to Business School. He was an officer in the army during World War II, and he was stationed on the Aleutian Islands in Alaska. Bert was married in Seattle, Washington, on December 18, 1943, to Gwendolyn Fox. After the war they returned to Wisconsin. Gwen preceded him in death in 1976. They had two children, Thomas (Carol) Bunker of Racine, WI, and Marjean (John) Davis of Prior Lake, MN. The family grew to include four grandchildren: Michelle Bunker, Rebecca (Patrick) Terry, Mark (Alisia) Davis and Sarah Davis; and two great grandchildren, Owen and Audrey Davis.

Bert’s career was in the insurance field until his retirement. He married Gladys Rowe in 1977 and welcomed his extended family, Lynnea (John) Semasko of Arlington Heights, IL, John Rowe of Madison and three additional grandchildren, Michael Semasko, Adam Rowe, and Matthew Rowe.

Bert’s good sense of humor and upbeat personality touched those who knew him. He was active in his churches in Madison and Fitchburg. He loved to sing and dance with family and friends. Bert was also an avid golfer, hunter, and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Gwendolyn and Gladys; two sisters, Katherine Brewster and Louise Laurance; and a brother, Dick Bunker(survived by Mabel).

A visitation will be Saturday, April 16, at 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. at Bethany Methodist Church, 3910 Mineral Point Road, Madison, WI. The family hopes in lieu of flowers that donations will be made to the American Cancer Society.

George Thomas Herchian

George Thomas Herchian, age 83, passed away Wednesday evening, March 16, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan - All Saints Medical Center. George was born in Racine on February 25, 1928, son of the late Neshan “Nick” and Agnes (nee: Dadian) Herchian.

Following graduation from Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1946,” George proudly served his country in the U.S. Army while stationed in Japan. He then returned and graduated from Spencerian College of Business and earned a degree in Accounting. He was first employed as an accountant with Union Savings and Loan and was employed for over forty years until retiring in 1987 as vice-president of what became M & I Bank. On August 27, 1949, George was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dorothy Jardee, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, where he had been a longtime member and past treasurer. In his spare time, George loved fishing, the outdoors and spending time at his cabin up north at Big Arbor Vitae Lake. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy; son, Gary (Stacey) Herchian of Kenosha; daughter, Gail (Ray) McCubbins of High Point, NC; grandchildren, Heather (Jason) LeMieux of San Antonio, TX, Tyler Herchian and Whitney Herchian, both of Kenosha; great-granddaughter, Jasmyne LeMieux; sisters, Dorothy Frederickson, Lucy Widmar; brother, Augie Herchian; sisters-in-law, Bette Jardee, Alice Jardee, all of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Elliott B. Wollman

Elliott B. Wollman, age 86, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Elliott was born in Brooklyn, New York, on April 2, 1924,, son of the late Charles and Eva (Nee: Weiss) Wollman and had been a Racine resident for over sixty years.

A graduate of Lafayette High School in 1942, Elliott attended Columbia University, graduated from the University of Miami with a B.A., B.Ed, and M.A. During World War II he served as a pilot with the United States Army Air Corps. On August 17, 1947, at Beth Israel Sinai Temple he was united in marriage to Shyla Slobodkin. Elliott’s employment history included Ben Franklin Variety Stores, Wheary-Hartmann Luggage Company, Twin Disc Inc., Wisconsin Department of Industry, Labor, and Human Relations of Wisconsin Racine and Kenosha Extension Center. He was a member of Beth Israel Sinai Temple, and served on the Education Committee.

Elliott was a member and actively involved serving numerous community organizations including: Boy Scouts of America as Veteran Scouter of seventy plus years, Vice President Area I (WI, IL, MI) Boy Scouts of America, Regional and National B S A Relationships/Board Communications, Executive Board National Jewish Committee B S A, Executive Board Southeast Wisconsin Council, B S A, Council Commissioner, Southeast Wisconsin Council B S A; Girl Scouts of Racine County Fund Development Committee, “Do-Dad”; President and board member of the Racine Symphony Orchestra; Mayor’s Commissions on Human Rights; National Committee of Christians & Jews Chairman Racine County; Racine Arts Board; Public Relations Chairman Racine Area United Way; and President of Racine County Blood Donor Group. He was also member of the Twin Disc “20 Year Club,” and Ellison Bay Men’s Club. A huge stamp collector, Elliott belonged to the Belle City Stamp Club. He also enjoyed fishing and fencing where he was member and served on the Midwest Olympic Selection Committee/Fencing and was charter member of the National Fencing Coaches Association. He was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts, and the Sigma Alpha Mu Fraternity.

Elliott was the honorary recipient of the Silver Beaver Award B S A, Silver Antelope Award B S A, SHOFAR Award National Jewish Committee on Scouting USA, and the Silver Medal Award Sons of the American Revolution.

Survivors include his wife, Shyla S. Wollman; his son, Marc J. Wollman; his daughter, Bronna E. Wollman, all of Racine; grandson, Benjamin Wollman of Shorewood; special friend, Sandy Berezowitz; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday March 18, 2011, at noon,  with Rabbi Dena Feingold officiating. Interment will follow at the Racine Jewish Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home Friday from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon. Theodore L. Turner Sr.

Sturtevant -- Theodore L. Turner, 59, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 16, 2011.

Theo was born in Racine on April 12, 1951, to the late Alfred Pete and Ruth Jeanette (nee: Wahlen) Turner. On June 30, 1984, he was united in marriage to Catherine Ann Heck.

Theo was a graduate of Case High School. After graduation, he was employed at Erickson’s Auto Trim, Chrysler in Kenosha, and was the owner of Carridge House Antiques. He was an avid Packer and Badger fan and a former member of the Racine Hog Chapter and was best known for his warm, friendly personality.


Theo will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Cathy Turner; three sons, Kyle (Stephanie Hazen) Turner, Theodore Jr. (Jeanette) Turner, and Nash (Kim) Turner; grandchildren, little Nash Turner and Cassandra Peshek; brother Pete (Sue) Turner; father-in-law, Larry Heck; brother-in-law, Steve (Theresa) Heck; sisters-in-law, Joan Thompson, Sue Jensen, Linda (Rudy) Rick, Laura (Eric) Armantrout; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and mother-in-law Nancy Heck.

Winifred 'Winnie' I. (Roest) Dahnert

Winifred “Winnie” I. (Nee: Roest) Dahnert, passed away at Wheaton Franciscan Hospital, Tuesday, March 15, 2011, at the age of 90. Winnie was born in Racine, September 19, 1920, daughter of the late Henry and Goldie (Nee: Tuttle) Roest.

Winnie was a graduate of Washington Park High School. She was a member of the Evangelical United Methodist Church (formerly Evangelical United Brethren) and on June 22, 1940, at the church she was united in marriage to Howard Lawrence Dahnert. Howard preceded her in death this past January 23rd. She was employed at Park-In drive-in as a teenager, J.I. Case as Rosie the Riveter making airplane wings, Western Publishing, and Lincoln Lutheran, retiring in 1974. She also assisted with teaching children to read at Janes Elementary School.

Winnie's main focus was on the family. She always looked for ways to bring family together. Helping others had also been a top priority for Winnie, as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Cub Scout Den mother, Sunday school teacher and food bank volunteer for many years at EUM.

Winnie loved anything related to art, such as crafts, painting, drawing and clay figures to name a few. She especially enjoyed art projects that included her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Every piece of art they created was a treasure.

Beyond her devotion to her family, Winnie also enjoyed traveling with Howard on vacations, through Racine Scout Drum Corps trips, rock-hounding with the Racine Geological Society and outings with the Holiday Rambler Club. She was a member of the Racine Elks Club.

Her happiest moments were getting together with family, and being with the love of her life, Howard.

Survivors include her children, Janice Nelmark, Robert Dahnert, James (Cynthia) Dahnert; her grandchildren, Robin Nelmark, Tammy (Ruben) Mendoza, Daniel (Terri) Nelmark, Debra (Steve) Radwill, Wendy (Rob) Siegel, Matthew Dahnert (fiancé, Cammi), Jonathon Dahnert, Kimberly (Chris) James, Nicholas Dahnert, Lisa (Chris) Przekurat; her great-grandchildren, Christopher (Megan) Mendoza, Michael Nelmark, Brendon Mendoza, Abigail Radwill, Emmit Radwill, Ashley James, Isabella Radwill, Ethan Fabian, Owen Radwill, Emily Nelmark, Christopher Przekurat, Chasity James, Utah Radwill, Carson Siegel, Jasmine Przekurat, Missy Doepke, Nick Doepke, Ryan Dahnert, Caleb Dahnert; brother, Calvin Roest of Richmond, VA; sister, Sue (Art) Webb of Rockford, IL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the Evangelical United Methodist Church, 212 11th St., with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Gordon 'Corky' J. Christensen

Gordon “Corky” J. Christensen, age 87, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. He was born in Racine, September 28, 1923, son of the late Carl and Margaret (Nee: Hanson) Christensen.

During World War II Corky proudly served his country as Corporal in the United States Army in the Philippines. He was united in marriage to Janice P. Rognsvoog on August 12, 1950, at the Trinity Methodist Church in Racine. Corky was employed by J.I. Case Company for thirty-three years until his retirement in 1983. Representing J.I. Case Company, Corky was a member of the State Street Businessmen Association, belonged to the Case “20 Year Club,” and was the head of the local order of the Magoose Club. Actively involved with Fourth Fest, he was the rides chairman for a number of years. An avid tennis player and golfer, Corky enjoyed membership at the North Shore Club. Corky valued coffee camaraderie with his buddies. He cherished fishing excursions up north with his family, teaching the love of fishing to his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of sixty years, Janice; his daughters and sons-in-law, Nancy (Joe) Borzynski, JoAnne (Marc) Elsmo, Laurie (Rick) Hennig; his five grandchildren, Stefanie (Yoav) Meiri, Michael (Shay) Borzynski, Betsy Elsmo (fiancée, Benjamin Thomas), David Elsmo, Richie Hennig; his four great-grandchildren, Julia, Claire, Jack and Joe; brother, Myron “Mike” Christensen; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Albert (Alice) Rognsvoog, Tom (Karen) Rognsvoog, Mary Ann (James) Furrie; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. Ruth E. (Strommen) Fox

Ruth E. Fox, “Foxy,” age 87, passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011, at her residence. Ruth was born in Mondovi, WI, on April 27, 1923, daughter of the late Robert C. and Ester (Nee: Lerdahl) Strommen.

On October 13, 1939, she was united in marriage to William A. Fox who preceded her in death, January 7, 1986. Ruth was employed by Motor Specialty for many years, last working at Ametek for seventeen years where she had many close friends. She was a member of Grace Church.

Ruth was full of life and had a big personality. She was known best for her quick wit, mischievous wink and infectious smile. A social butterfly, Ruth loved spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading her novels, bowling, crocheting, fishing, traveling and playing cards. A loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend, Ruth will be deeply missed and remembered every day.

Joyce E. (Aagesen) Guilette

Joyce E. Guilette, age 84, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Joyce was born in Flint, Michigan, on February 28, 1927, daughter of the late Adolph A. and Tilda M. (Nee: Running) Aagesen and had been a long-time Racine resident.

Joyce was employed by Western Publishing for twenty-seven years, retiring February of 1982. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She also belonged and volunteered with the Friends of Seniors. Joyce enjoyed dominoes and playing cards with her friends. More than anything she cherished time spent with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Brent A. (Lisa) Burdick of Waldorf, MD, Ronald L. (Sally) Burdick of Racine, Sharon K. Burdick of Racine; stepchildren, Mark F. Dale Wayne Summerford

Dale W. Summerford, 50, passed away at his residence on March 11, 2011.

Dale was born to Floyd Summerford and Florine (nee: Siverly) Summerford-Bearden on October 13, 1960, and lived his entire life in Racine.

He recently graduated college as a CNC Machinist and was known as an avid bowler and sports fan who loved the Packers, Brewers and NASCAR. Other hobbies included travel, especially to Las Vegas, and cookouts. But most of all, he loved his family and was known as a man with a “heart of gold.”

Dale will be dearly missed by his mother, Florine; brothers, David and Daniel (Heather); sister, Mary; nieces and nephews, Jill, Dawn, Savanna, Ashley, Makayla, Cashmere, Alana, Dashaun, Jaliyah, Aaron, Jeremy, Jonathan, Austin, Amber and Andrew; best friends, Tommy D., Todd, Tony, Tarz and Ken as well as numerous cousins and other good friends.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, Floyd Summerford and John Bearden; and his sister, Debra Summerford.

Sharon A. (DuPont) Lousier

Surrounded by her family, Sharon Ann Lousier, age 62, passed away Friday, March 11, 2011, at her residence. She was born in Manitowoc, WI, on March 1, 1949, daughter of George and Lois (Nee: Hebert) DuPont.

Sharon was educated in Manitowoc and on August 29, 1970, she was united in marriage to James F. Lousier. They moved to Racine in 1972. Sharon was an administrative assistant for the community outreach program, Focus. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and gardening and was an avid tennis and bridge player. She dedicated her life to her family and will be dearly missed.

Surviving are husband, Jim; children, Leann (John) Pomeroy, Scott (Alison) Lousier; grandchildren, Johnnie and Zoe; her parents, George and Lois DuPont; three brothers and a sister, James (Susan) DuPont, Karen (Mark) Flasher, John (Lynn) DuPont, Dale (Jody) DuPont; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemary Konitzer, Marcia (Dick) Lemberger, Audrey (Don) Faust, Dan (Gail) Lousier; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Carol J. (Heiser) Lloyd

Carol J. Lloyd, age 74, passed away Thursday, March 10, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Carol was born in Racine, January 3, 1937, daughter of the late Richard and Hazel (Nee: Tooley) Heiser and was a lifelong Racine resident.

Carol will forever be remembered for her devotion and love, caring for her family throughout the years. She especially loved spoiling her grandchildren. A bingo fanatic, Carol enjoyed her excursions to Potawatomi and her Wednesday bus trips with her best friend Phyllis Morgenson. She cherished time spent with her many friends at Mount Pleasant Manor, many of whom she considered as family. She will be deeply missed.

Carol Ruth Johnson

Mrs. Carol R. (nee: Worden) Johnson, 62, passed away on Thursday, March 10, 2011.

Carol was born in Racine to the late Lester and Beatrice (nee: Milliano) Worden on September 2, 1948, and lived her entire life in Racine. She was united in marriage to Thomas Allen Johnson on March 21, 1990.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Thomas; children Pauleea, Stephen A. Jr., Jonathan, Sara, Tammy, Jessica, and Jeremy; sisters, Mary and Jo; best friends Stephen A. Yuhas Sr. and Annette Chapman; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester and Beatrice; and sisters, Sheryl Jewell and Arliss Mae Bass.

Ruth May Wesner

Mrs. Ruth May Wesner, 83, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 9, 2011.

Ruth was born in Milwaukee to the late Byron and Verna (nee: Engel) Fuller on January 16, 1928. She lived in Racine all of her life. In Racine, she was united in marriage to Richard O. Wesner at Calvary Memorial Church on October 14, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 22, 1981.

Mrs. Wesner was employed at Educators Credit Union as the Vice-President of lending, credit counseling and student loans for 22 years. She retired in 1990. She was an active member of Calvary Memorial Church. There she served on the Mission Board and the Finance Board. Ruth was well known for her musical talents as an accomplished pianist, organist and the choir at church. One of the highlights of her life was a trip to Zaire, Africa, to work at a mission station. She was also well known for her concern for others.

Ruth is survived by her two sons, David Wesner and Randy Wesner (fiancé, Marna Glover-Krueger); and one granddaughter, Sarah Wesner. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Nile Fuller; sister, Lucille (Edward) Niesen; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Emil (Rose) Wesner.

A funeral ceremony will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 13, 2011, at 3:30 p.m. with Rev. Richard C. Rogers officiating. Entombment will be held at Graceland Cemetery on Monday, March 14, 2011, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. until the time of ceremony. Lois J. (Newman) Hammes

Lois J. Hammes, age 89, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Lakeshore Manor. Lois was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 21, 1921, daughter of the late Herbert J. and Elta J. (Nee: James) Newman and was a Racine resident for over eighty years.

On May 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to Quinten A. Hammes who preceded her in death on October 27, 1963. She owned and operated The Children’s Corner for many years. Lois was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church. Actively involved in politics, Lois was a member of the Racine Unified School Board and numerous other community and civic organizations. Her interest also included gardening and playing bridge. More than anything she cherished time spent with her family and will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held Monday, March 14, 2011, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Glenn Lawson officiating. Entombment will follow at Mound Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. and Monday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Healthcare Network, the Racine County Pony Club or the Caledonia Conservancy have been suggested.

Thomas E. Baker Sr.

Thomas E. Baker Sr., age 83, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2011, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Thomas was born in Racine on February 21, 1928, son of the late Edward and Lydia (Nee: Hansen) Baker.

At age 16 Thomas joined the United States Merchant Marines and five years later he enlisted with the United States Army. On October 9, 1948, at Holy Communion Lutheran Church he was united in marriage to Anne V. Slaasted. He was employed by Pugh Oil, Hribar Trucking, and last worked at the Milwaukee Metro Auto Auction. His pastimes included bowling, hunting, fishing, NASCAR, and he was an avid Packer fan. Tom will be best remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife Anne of sixty-two years; his children, Robert Baker, Gail Baker (Richard Hovorka), Sandra (Brian) Callis, Glenn Purlee; daughter-in-law, Samantha Baker; grandchildren, Ashten, Melissa and Cody Baker, Gary Granger Jr., Germaine (Brian) Eisel, Gwen Granger, Geralyn Granger, Garrick Granger, Erick (Ashley) Callis, Matthew Callis (Ashley Layman), Jacob (Amanda) Callis; great-grandchildren, Jayden, Nathanyel, Kyliegh-Anne Callis, Landon and Audrey Granger, Ryland Granger, Devon and Lucas Eisel; sisters, June Scheible, Doris (Arnold) Volz, Betty Taylor; brother-in-law, Paul Smaglick; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Thomas E. Baker Jr. on October 4, 2004; stepfather, Albert Jameson; brothers, Robert and Howard; and sister, Ruby Sanders.

A Memorial Service followed by full military honors will be held at the First United Methodist Church, 745 Main St., on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Brad Van Fossen officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Saturday from 1 p.m. until time of service. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
