Sam 'Moe' Garbedian

Sam “Moe” Garbedian, age 84, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2013.  Moe was born in Racine on December 13, 1928, son of the late Moses and Mary (Nee:  Ohannesian) Garbedian.

Moe was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1948.”  During the Korean War he proudly served in the United States Army.  Moe was employed in construction as a cement mason for many years, retiring in 1990.  He was a member of St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church.  Moe was an avid golfer.  He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his brother, Charles Garbedian; other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Charlotte Valdez and Eva Aiello.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Mesrob Armenian Apostolic Church, 4605 Erie St., with Rev. Yeprem Kelegian officiating.  Interment with full military honors will follow at Graceland Cemetery.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Tuesday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. Memorials to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
