Gloria (Venturini) Missurelli

Gloria (nee: Venturini) Missurelli passed away peacefully on September 11, 2013.  She was born in Racine on June 21, 1925, to Albert and Teresa Venturini and was a lifelong resident of Racine.

On August 10, 1946, Gloria was united in marriage to Sam Missurelli at Sacred Heart Church where she was a lifetime active member. They were married for 53 years.  Together they successfully owned and operated Lincoln Florist for 20 years.  Gloria then worked for Haban Manufacturing.  She was an active member of Sacred Heart Christian Mothers and Vittora Colonna Lodge for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Barbara Missurelli of Racine, David (Julie) Missurelli of Lake Zurich, IL, and Paul (Genelle) Missurelli of Menomonee Falls; seven grandchildren, Jennifer (David) Lewis of Omaha, NE., Thomas (Vasilisa) Hansen of Los Angeles, CA., Kim (Doug) Voigt of Deerfield, IL, Daniel (Julie) Hansen of Madison, Nick Missurelli of Waukesha, Alyssa Missurelli of Chicago, IL, and Geena Missurelli of Lake Zurich, IL; thirteen great-grandchildren, Mazie, Grace, Abigail, Jack and Madelyn Lewis of Omaha, NE, Katya, Sasha and Luka Hansen of Los Angeles CA, Maggie, Sam and Ellie Voigt of Deerfield, IL, Skylar and Owen Hansen of Madison; sisters-in-law, Adaline Pangrazi and Marie Missurelli; and brothers-in-law, Russell Missureli and Frank (Gina) Missurelli; and a very special niece, Jeannine (Ron) Woods; as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Sam; and her brother, Gino Pangrazi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 21, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave., with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating, assisted by her brother-in-law, Deacon Russell Missureli.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Saturday at the church from 8:30 a.m. until time of Mass (Vittora Colonna Service at 9:45).  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Highway 32.

Gloria’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Ridgewood Care Center staff  - 2 East, and Dr. Ryan Engel for the special and compassionate care they gave to her the past few years.
