Nicole A. 'Nicki' (Iggulden) Gilbert

Nicole A. “Nicki” Gilbert, age 43, left this world unexpectedly early Sunday morning, September 7, 2014.   Nicki was born in Racine on February 8, 1971, daughter of Michael A. and Marsha L. (nee: Seils) Iggulden.

Nicki was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1989.” Following high school, Nicki attended Marian College where she met the love of her life, George G. Gilbert. They were united in marriage on May 6, 1995, at St. Joseph Catholic Church where she has been a lifelong member.

Nicki enjoyed her eighteen years employed as a hair stylist with Partners in Design Hair Salon. For the last five years, she has been living her dream of owning her own shop, “The Vine,” with her partners, Mary Bryant and Julie Borglin. An exercise enthusiast, Nicki Jazzercized for many years and recently worked out at Coreadvantage Studio with her friend, Joe Eloundou.

Above all, Nicki was a loving wife and mother who cherished her time with her family. She loved attending her son, Cole’s, and her daughter, Sadie’s,  many events, and was their greatest fan and endless source of love and support. She was blessed to have her best friends and sister, Michelle and Slade, as next door neighbors, along with their children, whom Nickie also loved as her own. A friend to everyone, Nicki will be remembered for her beautiful smile, positive attitude, her vibrant and upbeat personality.  She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

Survivors include her loving husband of nearly twenty years, George; her children, Cole and Sadie; her parents, Michael (Marsha) Iggulden; her sister, Michelle (Slade) Smith and their children, Shey, Sydney and Saige; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, George (Patricia) Gilbert; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Michelle (Larry) Dykes and their children, Delanie and Michaela, Joseph Gilbert and his children, Ronin and Riley, Daniel (Breaa) Gilbert; other relatives and many dear friends.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, September 13, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Saturday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for an education fund to be established for Nicki’s children have been suggested.
