Barbara D. Sharp, age 63, passed away peacefully, Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints Medical Center. Barbara was born in Philadelphia, PA, March 5, 1947, daughter of the late Honorable Richard M. and Margaret L. (Nee: Redding) Sharp.
Barbara was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she served as Pastoral Associate for the past four years. Previously she had been the Director of Associates working with the Dominican Sisters at Siena Center for nine years. Outside of her devoted care for others, Barb had a huge heart for all animals, especially her white standard poodle, “Biscuit.” She enjoyed photography and was a big fan of the Harry Potter series. Barb will be remembered for her selflessness, loving nature and her many acts of kindness to others. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her brother, Thomas M. Sharp of Puyallup, Washington; nephews, Michael and Matthew Sharp; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Christine Spenser Sharp; and by her sister, Nancy Kay Sharp.
A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, November 19, 2010, at 4 p.m. at Siena Center Chapel, 5635 Erie Street. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday from 3 p.m. until time of Mass at Siena Center.
