Rosemary M. (Schliesmann) Septon

Rosemary Margaret Septon, age 80, was born into eternal life May 3, 2010, following a long and courageous battle with Leukemia and Spasmodic Torticolis-Dystonia, Rosemary was born in Racine, Wisconsin on Mother’s Day, May 12, 1929, daughter of the late John and Frances (Nee:Loub) Schliesmann.

Rosemary attended St. Rita’s Grade School and won top honors to attend St. Catherine’s High School where she was an active student. She graduated in 1947. In 1951 on her 22nd birthday she married the love of her life, Lyle E. Septon.

First and foremost, Rosemary was a loving and giving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. She was employed by Sears Roebuck and Co. for 15 years and was an active member of the Sears Retiree Club. After retiring from Sears she spent five years working at Christy’s Department Store; her happiest working years. Lyle and Rosemary have been active members of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church for more than forty years.

Together with her husband, Rosemary had three children , Gregory (Adria Day) Septon, Peggy (Douglas) Anderson, and Jill (Steven) Hansen. Rosemary was a loving and devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren, Kristin (Ryan) Horn, Emily Anderson, Gregory Anderson USAF, Andrew Hansen, Maggie Jayne Hansen, and Parker Day Septon. Further surviving are her sisters, Elaine (William) Zlevor, Carol (Donald) Robotka; brother, John “Jack” (Nancy) Schliesmann; sister-in-law, Leigh Leudtke; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and many dear friends too numerous to list. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Hagner; and grandparents Frank and Anastasia Loub.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 7, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Reverend William Dietzler officiating. Private inurnment with family members will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Catherine’s High School are suggested.
