John 'Jack' T. Chapman

Surrounded by his loving family, John “Jack” T. Chapman, age 88, passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan–All Saints Medical Center. Jack was born in Racine on February 24, 1925, son of the late John and Louise (Nee: Vanbree) Chapman.

Jack proudly served in the United States Army. On August 17, 1957, he was united in marriage to Donna M. Stanton, who preceded him in death in 2007. He was employed by the U.S. Postal Service as a carrier for thirty years, retiring in 1985.

He was a member and usher at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. He also belonged to the Catholic Men’s Association, American Legion, VFW Post 1391, National Association of Letter Carriers, and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. He enjoyed volunteering with Meals on Wheels. More than anything he cherished time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Jack is survived by his four sons, Michael (Mary), Thomas (Virginia), John (Kimberly), Steve (Sherry), and his daughter, Mary Chapman. He was loved by his many grandchildren: Nicholas, Ashley, Julie, Haley, Lindsey, Thomas Jr., Annamarie, Melody, Julie (Corey), Jennifer, and Timothy; other relatives and many dear friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Monday, December 9, 2013, at 5 p.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. Terrance J. Huebner officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 3 p.m. until time of Mass at 5 p.m. Private entombment will be held at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Stars and Stripes Honor Flight, P.O. Box 636, Port Washington, WI 53074 or to the American Cancer Society have been suggested.

A very special thank you to Dr. Mullane and staff and also to the entire staff at Wheaton Franciscan for their loving and compassionate care.
