Louise M. (Seidel) Montgomery

Louise M. Montgomery, (Seidel), 92, passed away on Monday, July 2, 2012, at Willowcrest Care Center in South Milwaukee.  The former Louise Seidel was born in Racine on February 25, 1920, to William F. and Laura (Nee: Dreyer) Seidel.  She was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1938.”  On April 12, 1941, she married the late Kenneth R. Montgomery of Evansville Wisconsin.  She was a lifelong member of Holy Name Parish.

Louise was a talented person.  An avid and award-winning golfer, she was a member of several Racine leagues over the years.  She was also very artistic and expressed that art in several forms:  china painting, ceramics, macramé, stained glass and porcelain.  After her family was raised, Louise worked in the drapery department at Goldblatts; and later she retired from Dremel Manufacturing.

Preceding her in death are her parents; her sisters, Betty Seidel and Florence (Al) Lucarelli; her husband, Kenneth R. Montgomery; and her son, Donald R. Montgomery.  Her survivors are sons, Col. Dennis W. (Mary Jo) Montgomery Ret., Jeffrey Montgomery and Jerry (Janet) Montgomery; daughter-in-law, Gina Montgomery; grandchildren, Susan (Colin) Montgomery-Boyle, Michael Montgomery, Heather (Randy) Elliott, Debra Montgomery, Katie (Al) Wassil, Carla Montgomery, and Anna Montgomery; and eight great-grandchildren, Siobhan Boyle, Cole, Riley and Nolan Elliott, Gwyneth, Connor and Lucas Monroe, and Emmett Wassil; her brother, William (Elaine) Seidel and his family also survive her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 6, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave. with Rev. Ronald J. Gramza officiating.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from noon until time of Mass at 1:30 p.m.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32.  In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Richard Catholic Church or to St. Catherine’s High School are suggested.
