June M. Stanford

Union Grove -- June M. Stanford, age 88, went to find her husband, Eugene, on February 2, 2013. She was born on June 15, 1924, to Harvey Schultz and Julia Miller.

At the end of WWII she and Gene wed in Holland, MI, and she worked for the Holland/Racine Shoe Company for five years. 

Upon returning to Racine, June was employed by Twin Disc Co. for many years.

She enjoyed retirement immensely as she could spend time with two of her great-grandchildren who brought such joy into their lives. She has spent the past five years entertaining the staff at Oakridge Care Center and praising everything they did for her every day.

She leaves behind her daughter, Patricia Denman; grandchildren, Richard S. Jensen, Wade B. Jensen, Rachel Ballantyne and Paula Jensen; great-grandsons, Drew Ballantyne, Ian Ballantyne and Derrick LaFrance; sisters, Nancy Reyes and Marjorie Griggs.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Eugene; her sister, Evelyn Heusdens; and brothers, Harvey Schultz and Richard Schultz.

Private services were held with entombment at West Lawn Memorial Park.

The family extends a very special thank you to the staff at Oakridge Care Center for their loving and compassionate care.
