Tillie I. (Dacquisto) Goins

Tillie I. Goins, age 95, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Tillie was born in Racine on November 28, 1917, daughter of the late John and Mary (Nee: Spyhala) Dacquisto.

On February 28, 1940, in Anekeny, IA, she was united in marriage to Edward L. Goins, who preceded her in death on December 8, 1970. Tillie was employed by Western Publishing for twenty three years, retiring in 1977. She attended Lutheran services while a resident at St. Monica’s. An avid reader, Tillie also enjoyed playing cards, knitting, crocheting and walking in the mall. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her daughters, Dalene Haney of Ventura, CA, Sandra Griffin (Ralph) of Chattanooga, TN, Diane (Roger) Caron of Racine; 9 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Tony Dacquisto, Nick Dacquisto; sisters, Frances Eschmann and Leona LaFave.

Private services will be held and she will be laid to rest next to her husband at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials to St. Monica’s Senior Citizens Home have been suggested.
