Mequon -- Bernice T. Erhardt, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at Horizon Hospice in Mequon. Bernice was born in Racine on August 1, 1919, daughter of the late Benjamin and Stefanie Wolk, and had been a lifelong resident until 12 years ago when she moved to Mequon to be closer to her daughter.
Bernice was a graduate of Washington Park High School “Class of 1937.” On July 15, 1949, Bernice was united in marriage to the love of her life, Rodney Erhardt, and shared 37 years together until he passed away on February 3, 1986. She was employed with In-Sink-Erator for over twenty years. Bernice was an active member and volunteer at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She will be best remembered for her love and devotion to her family and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her daughters, Jacquelyn (Arlyn) Fredrick of Mequon, Mary (Robert) Pierce of Denton, TX; three grandchildren, Nathan Fredrick, Lauren Fredrick, Jason Pierce (fiancée, Adrienne McCormick); sister, Josie Paraganian of Racine; sisters-in-law, Maxine Schrader and Stella Wolk, both of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Bernice was also preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Johnson; and brothers, Charles Wolk and Leo (Joyce) Wolk.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. followed by entombment at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, masses in Bernice’s name have been suggested.
