Georgia A. Adi, age 92, passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Ridgewood Care Center. Georgia was born in Racine on September 12, 1921, daughter of the late Roy and Adella (Nee: Cichanofsky) McCarthy.
On October 21, 1943, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Dover she was united in marriage to Peter Adi Jr., who preceded her in death on October 30, 1994.
In her earlier years she was employed by Hamilton Beach and Western Publishing for 27-1/2 years. She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and most recently a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Georgia was very proud of her Irish heritage and enjoyed reading, canning, flower and vegetable gardening.
Survivors include her daughter, Pat Bauer, and her granddaughter, Michelle Bauer, both of Racine; other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Carol (Harvey) Moore.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, July 28, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will be follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Lucy Food Bank or to Ridgewood Care Center have been suggested.
