Thomas J. McDonald, age 71, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at his residence. He was born in Chicago on April 19, 1943, son of the late James and Dorothy (Nee: Deranleaux) McDonald.
Tom was employed by Western Publishing for many years; upon their closing, he was employed by Mitchell International Airport as a runway attendant. He was last employed at a printing company in Waukegan, IL. Tom was a member of the Barber Shop Quartet and performed with the Penguin Players.
Surviving are his brother, Daniel (Kristine) McDonald; niece, Kelly Warren; great-niece, Rachel Blaszyk; great-nephews, Brian Warren and Kyle Blaszyk; special friends, Marie Miller, Peggy Carey, Gary and Linda Verschueren-Schultz and many other friends. In addition to his parents, he also was preceded in death by his niece, Patricia Blaszyk.
A Memorial Service celebrating Tom’s life will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bob Lambert officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family on Sunday, from noon until time of service at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
