Rhea P. (Osterman) Smith

Rhea P. Smith, age 92, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2014, at Ridgewood Care Center. Rhea was born June 10, 1922, in Price County, WI, daughter of the late John and Helen (Nee: Pomraining) Osterman.

She was educated in Racine schools including Holy Name, Franklin Jr. and Washington Park High School. On January 6, 1951, in Crown Point, Indiana, she was united in marriage to Raymond T. Smith.

Rhea was a member of Washington Park Golf Club, former member of Johnson Park Golf Club, Racine Garden Club and Racine Children’s Theatre. She retired from Kohl’s Department Store in July of 2004 after seventeen years of service.

Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-three years, Ray T. Smith; her children, Dale (Jack) Gibson of Palm Springs, CA, Roberta Krause, Kevin (Cindy) Smith, all of Racine; seven grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many great friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two sisters, Mabel Feerher and Lucille Kamien.

Private funeral services will be held with interment at West Lawn Memorial Park.
