He was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1952” and UW-Madison with a BSME. Orville proudly served in the United States Army.
On August 22, 1959, at Atonement Lutheran Church, he was united in marriage to Virginia G. Mattson. He was employed for many years by Racine Steel Castings until his retirement in 2002. He then worked as a consultant at Knoch Manufacturing for five years.
Orville was a lifelong member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Orville belonged to the Racine R/C Club. An avid golfer, he also loved traveling and reading. More than anything, he cherished time spent with his family. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-five years, Ginny; his children, Mike (Julie) Brask of Cedar City, UT, Dave (Kate) Brask of Lindenhurst, IL, Susan (Chris) Herder of Racine; nine grandchildren, Matthew, Enjouli and Nate, Kim, Aaron, Sam and Natalie, Jamie and Jonah; two great–grandchildren, Lilly and Hadley; sister-in-law, Rose Mattson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jessica Taylor; brother, Donald (Gertrude) Brask; brother-in-law, Dick Mattson; and niece, Linda Brask.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at 6 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Jane Fryda officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until time of service at 6 p.m. Private interment with Full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Memorials to Emmanuel Lutheran Church or to Hospice Alliance have been suggested.
