She graduated with a BS in Home Economics Education. After teaching for two years, she became a Therapeutic Dietitian at St. Luke’s Hospital and later St. Mary’s Hospital. Helen’s hobbies were gardening, until the age of 93, knitting and sewing. She also enjoyed vacationing in nine Canadian provinces, many U.S. states, the Holy Land, twice, and Spain, Morocco and Alaska, twice.

Barry (Ruby) Shaw, Kathy (Jim) Kallenbock, Susan Lagerlaef, Marjorie (Harold) Hargett, Diana (Arthur) Bohm; friends at Friendship Village, Schaumburg, IL; and many close friends at Calvary Memorial Church.
