Marion L. (Staaden) Adams

Wilmington, DE -- Marian L. Adams, age 88 passed away Monday, January 16., 2012, in Wilmington, Delaware. Marian was born February 12, 1923 in Racine, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Herman and Lillian (Nee: Hallman) Staaden.

Marian graduated from Horlick High School, and served in the United States Navy Waves, 1943-1946. On November 23, 1946, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Adams, who preceded her in death March 4, 2004. She was a longtime member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her son, Jerome T. (Pamela) Adams of Hockessin, DE; daughter-in-law, Dolly Plunkett of Racine; six grandchildren, Daniel (Christine), Stephanie, Jonathan, Abigail and Jeremiah Adams and Kindra (Lee) Roberts; two great-grandchildren, Jason and Connor; a brother, Eugene (Eleanor) Staaden of Racine; sisters, Patricia (Bernard) Braun of Racine and Dolores (Willmont) Northrop of San Diego, CA; brother-in-law, Charles Adams of Eugene, OR; and dear friends, Lillian Neumann and Lillian Sommers. In addition to her parents and husband, Marian was also preceded in death by her son, Thomas F. Adams; and her brother James Staaden.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., on Friday, January 27, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Don Zerkel officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday morning at the church from 9:30 until time of Mass. Memorials to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church or to one’s favorite charity have been suggested.
