Rose Mary (O'Donnell) DeMeulenaere

Rose Mary DeMeulenaere passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012, at her residence with her husband by her side.  Rose was born in Williamsburg, Iowa, on October 6, 1939, the daughter of the late Augustine and Myrtle O’Donnell.

Rose was a graduate of Williamsburg High School, Class of 1958.  After high school she attended Marquette University.  Rose married Edward DeMeulenaere at St. Mary’s Church in Williamsburg.  She was employed at Case Company in Omaha, Nebraska, while Ed completed his hospital administration residency.  Her motto for life was, “Faith, family and friends,” and she lived out her faith by giving time to support meals for the poor, Healthcare Network, Veritas and volunteering her time at numerous organizations including YWCA, Junior League of Racine, Better Breathers and St. Mary’s Medical Center Auxiliary.  Rose was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Franny.

Rose is survived by her husband, Ed; her children, Conna (Tom) Tigges of Carmel, IN, Chris (Ann) DeMeulenaere of Brookfield, Cynde (John) Summers of Franksville.  She thoroughly enjoyed her 11 grandchildren, Tyler, Spencer, Alexandra, Maxwell, Keegan, and Victoria Tigges, Rachael, Augustine, and Riley DeMeulenaere, Lauren and Liesel Summers.  Survivors also include her sisters,  Patricia (John) Stirk of Fairfax, VA, Rita (Richard) Schaefer of Pewaukee, Terry (Ted) Ingrassia of Rockford, IL, Kate (John) Riess of Castle Pines, CO, and Josephine (Custer) Livermore of Chicago, IL.  Other survivors include her sisters-in-law, Margie O’Donnell of Houston, TX, Mary Sindelar of Marion, IA, Joan Wahl of Jefferson, IA, and Betty DeBrower of Cedar Rapids, IA; and brother-in-law, Bob DeMeulenaere of Victor, IA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 27, 2012, at 11 a.m.  at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., with Rev. Terrance J. Huebner, Rev. John Endejan, and Rev. William Dietzler concelebrating.  Private interment will be held.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.  In keeping with Rose’s wishes, memorials have been suggested to All Saints Foundation for a Respiratory Scholarship in her honor.
