Eugene F. 'Gene' Muraski

Surrounded by his loving family, Eugene F. Muraski, age 84, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013, at his residence. Eugene was born in Antigo, WI, on November 21, 1928, son of the late Edward and Frances (Nee: Bahr) Muraski.

As a young man, Gene left his home in Antigo and joined the Merchant Marines. For five years, he travelled the world and was employed as a baker and chef. On September 13, 1980, he was united in marriage to Donna Mae Nelson (nee: Gall). Gene was a Realtor, last employed by Wauwatosa Realty. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In his spare time, Gene enjoyed boating, waterskiing, bingo and his trips to Las Vegas. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-two years, Donna; his children, Kenneth E. Nelson (MariLou Ompad) of Las Vegas, NV, Janet A. (Thomas) Pellizzari of Union Grove, WI; his grandchildren, Reid Michael Pellizzari, Taylor Lynn Pellizzari, and Christine Mary Nelson; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, LaVerne Muraski of Elton, WI, Emily Muraski of Polar, WI, Arlene Londre and Ronald Gall, both of Racine; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Felix, Edward, Frank, John, Joe, Raymond and Theodore Muraski, Verna Vcelak, and Irene Papiese.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St., on Tuesday July 30, 2013, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Steve Varghese officiating. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and at the church Tuesday from 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alzheimer’s Foundation or to Hospice Alliance have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Ruth Ann and Wendy and to Hospice Alliance and their staff, especially Tiffany, Mohamed, Elaine and Chaplain Terry for all of their loving and compassionate care.
