Ronald F. Theama

Surrounded by his loving family, Ronald F. Theama, age 78, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013, at his residence.  Ron was born in Racine on November 13, 1934, to Charles and Clara (Pfeiffer) Theama.

He was employed at Progressive Dairy and Racine Lime and Cement.  Ron was a member of Teamsters Local 43, retiring in 1992.  He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Zatko at St. John Nepomuk Church in Racine on November 9, 1957.  He was a member of St. Rita of Cascia Parish.  He enjoyed going to estate sales and was an avid collector and antique dealer for many years, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren at family celebrations.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Ann; his children, Jeanne (Jon) Kirchner, Julie Worman, Jim (Karen) Theama, JoAnn (Pat) Ryan, Jeff (Lisa) Theama and Jerry Theama. He is further survived by his grandchildren, Zach (Marissa) Cmeyla, Alex (Jackie) Kirchner, Colin Kirchner; Lucy, Nathan and Mary Theama; Joshua and Olivia Ryan; Anita, Madalyn, Nick and Drew Theama; brother, Charles Theama; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ellen and John LaBrasca; and sister-in-law Garnet Theama; along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy; and brothers, Raymond (Marion), Hubert, Lawrence (Mary Ann) and David; sister-in-law Audrey Theama; parents-in-law Joseph and Frances Zatko; and granddaughter Hannah Ryan.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., with Rev. Kevin Mullins O.S.A. officiating.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m.  Memorials to Racine Catholic Food Pantry and Hospice Alliance have been suggested.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Mullane, Dr. Ulmer, and all their staff and Hospice Alliance, especially Sue, Heidi and Jolina for their kind and compassionate care of Ron during his illness.
