Harry E. Quinn

Harry E. Quinn, age 98, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Lincoln Village Convalescent Center.  Harry was born in Racine on May 3, 1915, son of the late Harry and Marie (Nee: Jahnke) Quinn.

During World War II Harry proudly served in the United States Army Medical Corps.  On July 12, 1947, in Milwaukee, he was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Reszczynski.  They were married fifty-four years before she passed away on December 27, 2001.  He was employed by the Racine Unified School District for twenty years, retiring in January of 1980.  Harry was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, Deutscher Männer Verein, Moose Lodge 437, and VFW Post 1391.  He enjoyed dancing, bowling, the Packers, and loved to create art.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his daughter, Beverly Annis; his granddaughter, Nicole (Tim) Hoewisch; his great-grandchildren, Aaron and Sara Hoewisch; his niece, Leah Held; other relatives and dear friends.  In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Stanley; sister, LaVerne Syslack; and son-in-law, Gerald Annis.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating.  Interment with full military honors will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m..
