Ken was born in Racine Nov 3, 1928, to the late Peter and Marie Jensen (nee. Mogensen) of Denmark. He married his high school sweetheart, Shirley Wallis, on August 23, 1946, and their first child, Jamie Lynn, arrived in 1947 and son Randy Paul in 1952.
For 14 years, Ken led a dual life as a budding musician and as the national sales rep for Webster. A consummate trailblazer, Ken moved to California in 1960, where he established Jensen Electronics and became known as ‘Mr. Intercom’ in the Los Angeles area. After a brief stint as vice president of Fischer-Berkeley, in 1984, he became president of Stentofon USA, headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1989 he retired to Racine.
His passing is preceded by his son, Randy Jensen; sister Doris; her husband, Erland Muoio; and niece, Barbara Lawrence. He is survived by his loving wife Shirley of 65 years, as well as daughter and son-in-law Jamie and Larry Marsh; grandson, Jason and wife, Helle Marsh, and granddaughter Katherine Marsh, all of Orange County, California.
Ken was always ready to enjoy life. He loved music, especially Jazz, travel and people. He loved his friends as much as they loved him… always the life of the party… quick with a joke and a compliment in equal parts. His ready smile and sense of humor were welcome everywhere. He was friendly, curious, kind, generous and oh so much fun! He will be greatly missed by all of us who knew and loved him. He was to us a mentor on life, and an inspiration who made every day with him a special one.
