Samuel J. Burgess

Oak Creek -- Samuel J. Burgess, 68, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Elizabeth Residence, Oak Creek. Sam was born in Milwaukee, WI, son of the late Robert Burgess and Dulce Burgess (Nee: Brannum) Hand.

Sam graduated from Lake Forest Academy in 1963, and after serving proudly in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Division he went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Arizona.

Survivors include his sisters, Julie Lundell of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, Gretchen Burgess of Scottsdale, AZ; and brother, John (Margaret) Burgess of Racine; cousin, Debra Burgess of Franklin, WI; nephews, Chris (Gail) Lundell of Dousman, WI, Carl (Ann Marie) Lundell of Detroit, MI; nieces, Dulce (Hasson) Elbadawi of Grosse Pointe, MI, Sarah (Cory) Rath of Columbiana, AL, Clare (Josh) Mork of Racine, Alicia (Charles) Gasser of Racine.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Joseph Grauwels officiating.. Interment with full military honors will follow at Mound Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to the Elizabeth Residence, Oak Creek, 10441 South Nicholson Road, Oak Creek, WI 53154 have been suggested.
