Richard Books

Tulsa, OK – Richard Books, age 50, passed away unexpectedly, Thursday, May 17, 2012, at his residence. Richard was born in Iowa City, IA, November 24, 1961, son of Richard E. and Phyllis A. (Nee: Palmer) Books, Jr.

Richard attended Union Grove Christian High School. He was employed for many years with Service Masters. Richard enjoyed music, all sports, especially basketball and the Packers. Most of all he dearly loved and cherished time with his son, Joel. He will be deeply missed.


Survivors include his father, Richard E. Books of Arcadia, CA; his ex-wife, Debbie Carter; and his son, Joel Books of McKinney, TX; brothers, Dave Books (life partner, Bud Schram) of Phoenix, AZ, Gary (Ruth) Books of Burlington, Mike (Kristina) Nass of Lexington, NE; sister, Diane Yocco of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Books; sister, Susie Books; niece, Carrie Anne Books, and Joy Yocco.

A Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012, at noon at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 9000 Washington Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested.
