Matias S. Morales

Matias S. Morales, 85, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at his residence.

Matias was born in Cotulla, Texas, on July 14, 1926, to the late Rosalio and Luisa (nee: Sanchez) Morales and had lived in Racine most of his life. On November 22, 1952, he was united in marriage to Barbara L. (nee: Grant) Morales; she preceded him in death on September 8, 1999.

Matias had been employed at American Motors for over 30 years. He will always be remembered as someone who had a heart of gold, who helped anyone in need, and was a blessing to all.

He will be dearly missed by his children, Anthony Morales of Fairbury, NE, and Angela (Brian) Morales-Hejl of Racine; grandchildren, Anthony and Augustine Morales, Alicia Morales-Gonzalez, LaNae, Amelio, Aphaisia Morales, and Autumn Hejl; 12 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Natividad and Jesse Morales; sisters, Rosa Garibay, Jane Serra and Maria Morales; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; parents, Rosalio and Luisa; an infant son, Jesse; great-grandson, Abdeel; and his brothers, Rosalio, Felipe, and Joseph Morales.

A memorial service in honor of Matias will be held at Wilson Funeral Home on Saturday, May 12, 2012, at noon. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
