Alice R. Jansen, age 90, passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Lincoln village Convalescent Center. Alice was born in Racine on July 31, 1922, daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Nee: Treml) Jansen.
Alice was employed by Howard Industries for twenty years and last employed by Gormac for a number of years until her retirement. She was a longtime member of St. Lucy Catholic Church. Her artistic talents were beautifully portrayed in numerous crafts and paintings she made throughout the years. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Hope Jansen of Milwaukee; her nephews, William (Candy) Rothering of Racine, Larry (Sue) Rothering of Franklin; nieces, Lynne (Tom) Craig of Milwaukee, Mary Stathas of Milwaukee, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her brother, Joseph Jansen; and her sister, Patricia Rothering.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, October 12, 2012, at 11 a.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Friday at the church at 10 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Lucy Catholic Church have been suggested.
