Milwaukee -- Bernice Kofsky, age 95, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012. She was born in Chicago, IL, on April 3, 1917, daughter of the late Joseph and Minnie Goodman.
On June 18, 1938, in Chicago, she was united in marriage to Aleck Kofsky, who preceded her in death August 17, 2001. Together they owned and operated Supreme Bedding Furniture Store until 1980. Bernice was a member of Beth Israel Sinai Congregation, a former lifetime member of Hadassah, a member of Temple Shalom in Fox Point and an advocate duplicate bridge player.
Surviving are a son, Michael (Bonnie) Kofsky of Mequon, WI; a daughter, Roberta (Dale) Jacobs of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren, Dana (Steve) Emold of Milwaukee, WI, David (Susan) Kofsky of Raleigh, NC, Julie (Gary) Jaskolski of Phoenix, AZ, Sarah (Russell) Jones of London, England; five great-grandchildren, Samantha and Max Jaskolski, Jonathan Jones, Jake and Benny Emold; sisters-in-law, Jennie (Edward) Agolini of Virginia Beach, VA; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Harry Goodman.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 9, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. at the Racine Jewish Memorial Cemetery with Rabbi Ronald Shapiro officiating.
