Luis Granados, age 64, passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2012, at Wheaton Franciscan–All Saints Medical Center. Luis was born in Mexico City on April 9, 1948, son of the late Jose and Ana (Nee: Medina) Granados and became a United States citizen in February of 2008. On October 19, 1985, he was united in marriage to Irene Cruz.
Luis was employed by Racine Steel Castings for thirty years. Luis will be best remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who was devoted to his entire family. His sense of humor and ability to make everyone smile will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Irene; his seven children, Apolonio Cruz, Cynthia, Alexis, Dominique, Luis Jr., Jose and Julio Granados; eleven grandchildren, Taquesha, Caniyah, Luis, Sincere, Jimyah, Juelz, Major, Carmine, Mia, Princess, Dior; sisters and brothers, Juana, Josefina, Yolanda, Blanca, Leticia, Teresa, Eduardo, Hector; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cesar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 1 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1100 Erie St., with Rev. Antony Thomas officiating. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 11 a.m. until time of Mass at 1 p.m.
