Frances was a longtime dedicated member of the First Presbyterian Church in Racine where she served as Elder, member of Debra’s Circle, Handbell Choir, P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization), and participated with many mission trips with the church to Peru and Costa Rica. She was also a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution).
Frances was an avid quilter who belonged to the Rainbow Quilters and looked forward to Quilt Camp every year. She also enjoyed many other crafts including painting, sewing and cross stitching. She had a great love for the outdoors, especially gardening with her great friend and neighbor of thirty-five years, Alice. Following retirement she enjoyed her many travels around the world including trips to Spain, Hawaii, Ireland and New York. Frances was always proud to sport the green and gold, cheering on her favorite team, the Packers. Above all, she loved her time spent with her family and family vacations. Frances was loved dearly by her family and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her three children, Michael Zimmermann of Marion, IA, Mark (Cady) Zimmermann, Julie Ervin, all of Racine; eight grandchildren, Lauren Nicole, Hannah Mae, Judd William, Jake Paul, Sydney Jade, Shane Michael, Jaylen Nicole and Joseph Hugh; sister, Carol (Clark) Chase of Broken Arrow, OK; nephews, Craig (Mary) Chase, Christopher Chase, Curtis Chase; niece, Carrie Chase; other relatives and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 2, 2012, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Ave., with Rev. Ben Johnston-Krase officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Thursday at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Memorials to the First Presbyterian Church have been suggested.
