Anna E. (Simanek) Jacobson

Anna E. Jacobson, age 87, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2010, at her residence. Anna was born in Racine, August 26, 1923, daughter of the late Rudolph and Anna (nee: Barina) Simanek.

Anna was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and on September 7, 1946, at the church she was united in marriage to Ralph J. Jacobson. He preceded her in death, July 28, 1997. A decorator at heart, Anna loved her garden, crafts, shopping and rummaging for her next treasure. She was also an excellent seamstress who enjoyed stitching and sewing. Above all it was her family that was most dear to her. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Paulette (Thomas) Brunner of East Troy, Peter (Kathryn) Jacobson, Donna (David) Brouwers, Jeffrey (Janet)Jacobson, all of Racine; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Meyer of Racine; 14 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters and brother, Millie Nelson, Addy (Marvin) Wirtz, Dolly (Joe) Bauer, Ralph (Janet) Simanek; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, Lawrence; brothers, William and Harry; and sisters, Betty Ward, Mary Running, and Beatrice Atherton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 16, 2010, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St., with Rev. Don Zerkel officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9 a.m.. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. Memorials to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church have been suggested.
