Barbara A. Nelson, age 78, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2010, at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. Barbara was born in Racine, December 26, 1931, daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Nee: Helgert) McGraw.
She was united in marriage to Robert H. Nelson who preceded her in death in 1969. Barbara was employed by Southern Colony for many years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her children, Carol Braun, Robert (Mary) Nelson, Mona E. Burkhardt; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Dvoracek; and her brother, Walter “Bud” McGraw.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, October 14, 2010, at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 1 p.m. until time of service at 2 p.m. Private interment will be held.
