Jane C. (Stupak) Laurent

Jane C. Laurent, age 79, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010, at Ridgewood Care Center. She was born in Racine, October 20, 1930, daughter of the late Theodore and Catherine (Nee: Duda) Stupak.

She graduated from William Horlick High School. On June 14, 1952, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Robert J. Laurent. Jane was employed as a bookkeeper for Palmer Johnson for over twenty years. She was a member of St. Lucy’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, shopping, traveling, cooking, sewing, gambling and spending time with her family. Above all she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her husband of 58 years, Robert; children, Thomas (Jane) Laurent and Sandy (Gary) Petersen all of Racine; grandchildren, Lindsay, Tyler, Carly, and Dana Laurent; special niece, Linda (David) Wachowiak; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Theodore (Mary) Stupak; and sisters, Ann Shifano, Mary Stupak and Christine (Oscar) Moe.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at 6 p.m. at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Reverend Mark Jones officiating. Private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet Tuesday at the church from 5 p.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Lucy’s Catholic Church or the American Diabetes Assn have been suggested.

A very special thank you to the staff at Ridgewood Care Center and the Ever Care staff for their loving and compassionate care given to Jane.
