Audrey Kathryn Minton

Kenosha - Audrey Kathryn (nee: Christensen) Minton, 83, passed away peacefully at Brookside Care Center, Kenosha, WI, on Thursday, March 15, 2012.

Audrey was born on December 8, 1928, in Kenosha, WI, to the late Edith and Bert Christensen. She spent much of her life on the family farm in Somers, WI.

Audrey graduated with the class of 1946 from Racine County Agricultural School in Rochester.

On April 19, 1947, Audrey was united in marriage to George Dewey Minton on his birthday at the Somers Congregational Church. She was employed for many years at Southern Wisconsin Center. She was a member of the Jaycampers Club. Audrey loved to read and enjoyed many craft projects. She was a wonderful cook, seamstress and a 4-H leader.

Audrey was a wealthy woman, rich in family and love. She was a wonderful grandma and great-grandma.

Audrey is survived by her eight children, Kathryn (Edward) Harmann, Amy (James) Leskowicz, Dan (Suzanne) Minton, Marcia (Michael) LaPointe, Beth Demant, Joel (Constance) Minton, Jeffrey (Debra) Minton and Laurie (Paul) Willems; 18 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry Christensen; sisters-in-law, Anita Christensen, Melba Jester and Joyce Martinson; special cousin, Phyllis Borger; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents; Edith and Bert Christensen; two brothers, Lynn Christensen and Lloyd Christensen; one sister, Janice Schultz; two grandsons, Christian Willems and Joel Minton, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home on Monday, March 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wayne Drueck officiating. Internment will follow at Sunset Ridge Cemetery in Kenosha. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 4 until 7 p.m. and on Monday morning at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time.

The Minton family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Brookside Care Center for the love and affection shown to Audrey during her stay.
