Harry W. Maillet

Harry W. Maillet, age 87, passed away Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Ridgewood Care Center. Harry was born in Danville, IL, on June 5, 1925, son of the late Emil and Amelia (Nee: Maseah) Maillet.

Harry proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean War. On October 12, 1957, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Danville, IL, he was united in marriage to Ann Snapelis, who preceded him in death on November 11, 1994. Harry was employed by General Motors for twenty years, J.I. Case, and lastly at Multi-Products, retiring in 2009. He was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, and the American Legion. Since his days as the Danville High School photographer, Harry has enjoyed photography. He also enjoyed auto racing and his kitty, Cassidy. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his daughter, Audrey Maillet (David) Widmar; his two grandchildren, Jeni Meekma and Andrew Meekma; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Ramona; and brother, Emil.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 11, 2013, at noon at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Mark R. Jones officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at noon.
