Ronald R. Obernberger

Ronald R. Obernberger, age 79, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Lakeview Specialty Hospital, Waterford, WI. Ronald was born in Racine, July 10, 1933, son of the late Alfred and Jeannette (Nee: Dederich) Obernberger.

Ronald was a graduate of Holy Name School and St. Catherine’s High School. He was employed by AMC for thirty years, retiring in 1985. Ronald then moved to Black River Falls where he was a dealer at the Rainbow Casino in Nakoosa. In his spare time he enjoyed restoring classic cars and boats, and working on model airplanes. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Ronald J. (Janice) Obernberger of Tomah, Robert D. (Diane) Obernberger of Racine, Linda J. Obernberger (Bill Farnsworth) of Racine, Richard A. Obernberger (Peggy Wanty) of Union Grove; his six grandchildren, Amanda, Tanya, Dana, Kristen, Phillip (Missy) and Sarah Vassh; five great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Leyah, Jordan, Faith and Gage Obernberger; brothers, Wayne (Carol) Obernberger, Fred (Pat) Obernberger, David (Bonnie) Obernberger; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter and his daughter, Susan Obernberger, on December 6, 2011.

A Memorial Service with Full Military Honors will be held Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be held. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m.
