Jeanette E. (Braun) Niznansky

Jeanette E. Niznansky, age 86, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2013, at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Jeanette was born in Caledonia on July 7, 1926, daughter of the late Norbert and Helen (Nee:  Maller) Braun.

On October 4, 1947, at St. Louis Catholic Church, Caledonia, she was united in marriage to Bert Niznansky who preceded her in death on  September 1, 1989. Jeanette and her husband owned and operated North Park Dairy Grocery from 1964 until 1979. She was last working at Nelson’s Variety Store.

Jeanette was a longtime and active member of St. Rita Catholic Church and belonged to the 3rd Order of Saint Augustine, Christian Mothers, Our Lady of Grace Circle and St. Rita Choir. Her pastimes included playing cards, bingo, crocheting for Toys for Tots and cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers. Her loudest cheers were saved for all of her grandchildren and all of their activities and sporting events. She cherished her family and will be dearly missed.

Survivors include her children, Diane (Tom) Worcester, Bud (LuAnn) Niznansky, all of Racine; four grandchildren, Kelly (Scott) Reignier of Wrightstown, Kim (Chuck) Jacobson of Franksville, Michael (Katie) Niznansky of Racine, Brian (Julie) Niznansky of Green Bay; three great-grandchildren, Madelyn and Max Reignier, Lily Niznansky; sister, Carol Kovacevich of Kenosha; sister-in-law, Catherine Braun of Oak Creek; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eugene and Donald Braun.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., with Rev. Kevin Mullins O.S.A. officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. Private entombment will be held at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Memorials to St. Rita Catholic Church have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Ryan Engel and his staff, and the staff on 3D at Wheaton Franciscan for their loving and compassionate care.
