Robert 'Bob' W. Brannon

Robert “Bob” W. Brannon, age 85, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at United Hospital System, Kenosha, WI.  Bob was born in Chicago, IL, on November 27, 1927, son of the late John J. and Eleanor M. (Nee:  O’Hern) Brannon.

He proudly served in the United States Army at the end of World War II, stationed in Japan.  On June 30, 1951, in Racine he was united in marriage to Bernice M. Thalacker, who preceded him in death in 1979.  On January 10, 1992, in Burlington he married Margaret M. Jorgensen.  Bob was employed as a Quality Control Analyst at J.I. Case Company for thirty years, retiring in 1986.  He was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church and J.I. Case “20 Year Club.”   A handyman at heart, Bob enjoyed building birdhouses, gardening, rummaging, photography and motorcycling.  More than anything, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.  He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of twenty-one years, Margaret; his children, Thomas (Carrie) Brannon of Osceola, WI, Paul (Vashelle) Brannon of Racine, Susan (Mark) Jensen of Kenosha; his stepchildren, Ron (Judy) Adamson of DeKalb, IL, Rita (Tony) Altmeyer of Raymond; grandchildren, Molly Brannon, Josephine Brannon, Eddy Brannon, Michael Brannon, Dylan Brannon, Erin Brannon, Nathan Jensen, Ashley Jensen, Ezra Adamson, Esther Adamson, Mathew (Katelyn) Steckling, Nicole Altmeyer; brother, John (Barbara) Brannon of Whitefish Bay, WI; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Brannon of Racine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.  In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Brannon; brother, Edward Brannon; and sister, Jeanne (William) Byrne.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 24, 2013, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St.  Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.
