Margaret (Petercsak) Ramig

Margaret Ramig, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Becker-Shoop Center.  Margaret was born in Racine on October 21, 1917, daughter of the late Steven and Margaret (Nee:  Loucas) Petercsak.

On September 2, 1938, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Ramig, who preceded her in death on February 5, 2003.  Margaret was employed for over thirty years as a waitress at the Racine Elks Club and the YMCA. She was a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church. Margaret had a vast cookbook collection and enjoyed knitting. She was devoted to her family and will be deeply missed.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, James Ramig; and sisters, Geraldine (Gerhart) Kingsfield, Irene (Jack) Burke.  Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Steven (Janet) Ramig; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at 10 a.m. at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church, 1903 Green St.  Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32.  Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 9 a.m. until time of Mass at 10 a.m. Memorials to Becker-Shoop Dementia Unit or to St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church have been suggested.
