Earl M. Pfleger Jr.

With his loving family by his side, Earl M. Pfleger Jr., age 86, passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at his residence. Earl was born on May 22, 1928, son of the late Earl and Alice (nee: Smith) Pfleger Sr., on the family farm on the corner of Douglas Ave and South Street in Racine.

On October 22, 1949, at St. John Nepomuk Church in Racine, he was united in marriage to Mae Kralicek. They shared fifty beautiful years together on their family farm in Kenosha before Mae passed away on December 22, 1999.

Earl was employed with the Eaton Corp for thirty years until his retirement. A farmer at heart and a master welder, Earl could build his own pole barns, work on tractors, and fix anything on the farm. In his spare time, Earl also enjoyed camping, fishing and quality time with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his children, Mark (Melle) Pfleger of Denmark, WI, Matthew (Jane) Pfleger of Antigo, WI, Pamela (Donald) Ruge of Kenosha, Cynthia (Phil) Wheeler of Kenosha; special niece, Chris Lloyd of TX; 10 grandchildren, Mark, Erin, Sarah, Ryan, Doug, Kirsten, Ashley, Thomas, Lauren and Madilyn; five great-grandchildren, Cali, Maya, Michael, Zoey and Delilah; brother, Carl (Barbara) Pfleger of Kenosha; brother-in-law, Anthony Kralicek; sisters-in-law, Elsie Budzinski, Kathleen Marsh and Judy Meyer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, 3100 95th St., Sturtevant, on Monday, July 21, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Sunday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. and on Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Memorials to Kenosha St. Joseph’s High School Scholarship Fund or Racine St. Catherine’s High School Scholarship Fund have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Ronald Schulgit, Dr. Michael Ansani, Dr. Rushim Bains and the staff of 3B at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints, Mary, Cathy, Andrea and April of Wheaton Franciscan Hospice for all of their loving and compassionate care.
