Jane C. (Schilke) Eickner

Jane C. Eickner, age 64, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, October 16, 2010, to join her loving husband on Sweetest Day. Jane was born in Racine, March 28, 1946, daughter of Herman and Lydia (Nee: Madsen) Schilke.

Jane was a graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1964.” On April 1, 1967, she was united in marriage to Timothy C. Eickner who preceded her in death Wednesday, June 9, 2010. The dedication and devotion Jane provided to many families through her daycare formed strong relationships with many children and their families. Always a social and active person, Jane enjoyed her neighbors, her many friends, and taking long walks. More than anything, it was her family that gave her the greatest joy, especially her time spent with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her children, Tom (Anne) Eickner, Mark (Jaime) Eickner; her five grandchildren, Caillie, Laura, and T.J. Eickner, Ethan and Isabella Eickner; her mother, Lydia Schilke; her brother, Thomas (Kaycee) Schilke; her mother-in-law, Marion Eickner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband Jane was preceded in death by her father, Herman Schilke and father-in-law, Theodore Eickner.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 21, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Lucy Catholic Church, 3101 Drexel Ave., with Rev. Howard Haase officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11 a.m.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Witkofski family for all the love and support they showed Jane, and to Estee at the Hair Connection and to the paramedic team for all their efforts.

I will miss seeing Jane on her long walks around the neighborhood....she has been a fixture in this part of West Racine. My prayers go out to you.
