Nicholas O. Miller

Kenosha -- Nicholas Otto Miller, age 74, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at Manor Care in Kenosha. He was born in Racine on March 11, 1938, son of the late Otto and Susan (Nee: Barra) Miller.

 Nick graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1956” and served in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Walker Mfg after 41 years of employment. Nick was an avid Brewers and Packers fan. He also was member of HOG and enjoyed riding his Harley. Everything he did, he did to provide for his children and grandchildren. It was time with his grandchildren that he treasured the most. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his children, Brenda (Patrick) Spensley of Newberg, Oregon, Robert V. Miller of Racine, Michelle (Paul) Belanger of Racine; known as “Papa” to his grandchildren, Jacob, Michael and Joshua Miller, Ryan and Jade Spensley, Devan Belanger; sisters, Suzanne (Dale) Jelinek and Mary M. Miller of Racine; former wife and friend, Christine Miller; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert V. Miller who was  killed in action in WWII.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, April 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel. Memorials to the Disabled American Veterans or Humane Society of the United States have been suggested.

A special thank you to the nurses and caregivers at Manor Care, especially, Mary, and also to all the Heartland Hospice staff who took care of Nicholas for the last year as part of his 2-1/2-year stay. God bless all of you, especially Theresa, Ryan, Amy, Nicole, Laura and the therapy dog, Jasper .
