Paul E. Strege

Paul E. Strege, age 61, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. Paul was born in Watertown, WI, on August 11, 1950, son of the late Elmer E. and Leona (Nee: Mentink) Strege.

Paul was a graduate of UW-River Falls and obtained a PhD in organic chemistry from UW-Madison. He began his career at Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan, and on September 24, 1977, in Midland he was united in marriage to Maxine M. Thompson. Moving to Racine in 1984, Paul became employed by Johnson Polymer, Johnson Diversey, and S.C. Johnson Wax. He retired from Johnson Diversey, November 28, 2006, as Director of Global Regulatory Affairs.

 He was a member of Grace Church. An avid reader, Paul also enjoyed gardening, especially tulips and roses. More than anything, he cherished his family and will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of thirty-four years, Maxine; his children, Erika Strege of Burnsville, MN, Timothy Strege of Racine; also his four-legged children, Squirt and Dr. Pepper; sisters and brothers, Helen (Mike) Grimmenga of Watertown, Mary (Barry) Beske of Madison, Roger (Bonnie) Strege of Fort Atkinson, Gary (Pat) Strege of Watertown; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John (Mai) Thompson of Vacaville, CA, Mark Thompson of Grand Rapids, MI, Herbert Thompson and Margaret (Larry) Baker of Midland, MI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 23, 2012, at 7 p.m. at Grace Church, 3626 Highway 31, with Rev. Joel Lindsey officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Interment will be held at Glenview Memorial Gardens, Ixonia, WI, on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at 11 a.m. Memorials to Grace Church have been suggested.
