James E. LaMasters Sr.

James E. LaMasters Sr., age 81, passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the Veteran’s Home, Town of Dover, WI. James was born in Mattoon, IL, on April 26, 1931, son of the late James Oscar-Leon and Blossom L. (Nee: Reed) LaMasters.

During the Korean War he served in the United States Navy. Throughout his career he was employed by Belle City Malleable Foundry, J.I. Case Company, AMC, and retired from Chrysler October 31, 1987. He was a member of the Shriners and the Masons. James loved country western music, was a workaholic, and loved life. More than anything he loved and enjoyed time spent with his family. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife, Carol E. (Nee: Sheppard); his three children, Sandra (Wayne) Rintoul of Kenosha, James LaMasters Jr., Jamilyn LaMasters, both of Racine; his grandchildren, Ryan James and Reba Nicole Rintoul, Kristi Lee LaMasters, Tyler James LaMasters; sister, Marjorie (Dale) Wines; brother-in-law, John Greathouse, all of Mattoon, IL; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, James LaMasters III; and by his sisters and brothers, Alma (Howard) Rasor, Dorothy Greathouse, Paul LaMasters, John LaMasters.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 25, 2012, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. John Fleming officiating. Interment with full military honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday from 5 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m.
