James J. Henderson

James J. Henderson, age 44, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. James was born in Clarkesdale, MS, on September 30, 1967, to the proud parents Louis and Beatrice Givens Sr.

James was raised and educated in Racine, WI. He was an avid sportsman. James played all sports, but was most successful in track; he set many records that are still posted and unbroken at J.I. Case High School. He was known to many as “King James” of the SGP social group and Southside Center.

James worked at Lincoln Lutheran as a cook until their closing. He then attended Gateway Technical College, where he received his CNC training.

James leaves to cherish his memories: his daughter, Kiyama Henderson of MN; his son, James “Henderson” Allen of Racine; his parents, Lewis and Beatrice Givens Sr.; his grandmother, Maybel Henderson; sister, Doris Henderson of Toledo, OH; brother, Lewis Givens Jr. of Racine; best friend and cousin, Jimmie “Lil Jim” Ward Jr. of Racine; five aunts, three uncles, five nieces, one nephew; very special friend, Kiyama's mom, Sanita Asberry; and friend Areatha Allen; and a host of other fond relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Lakeview Church of Christ, 3224 Wright Ave., with Brother Sylvester Stokes officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m.
